Corey Hart to sign one-year, $5M deal with Mariners - CBSSports.com

Lol, he signed with the Mariners for one year $5 million deal that could go to $13 million if he reaches certain incentives. I would have been all over that if I was the Giants, just sayin...

The Giants may have been all over Hart on that deal, but Hart may not have been all over the Giants with that deal.

HITTERS TRY TO AVOID COMING TO THE GIANTS ON DISCOUNTED SHORT-TERM CONTRACTS.

All things are NOT equal in these situations.

:agree:

I would think we get the opposite treatment from pitchers

We will find out sometime in the future on that account. Unfortunately (ironically), we are VERY good at developing our own pitchers, so we rarely need to get pitchers from outside the system.

Getting Huddy on a good contract may be the first time we have experienced this side of the coin.

We will have to see what happens when we chronically fall back to the middle of the pack.

I like these charts, but they do not take wall-height into account, do they?

There is also humidity, gravity and jet-streams that factor in, but those are difficult-to-impossible to factor in.

Correct, nor do they take into account a double or other deep fly ball in the "real" park that might be a home run in the "overlay" park.

"true" landing spots are "where the ball would hit the ground if no fence". So almost all of the shots to RCF and RF wouldn't have made it out. Most of the spots to left and center would have been HRs (8 ft wall).

Nor that pitchers pitch to the park they are in. He wouldn't see the same pitches at AT&T as he got at FisherPrice Stadium.
