Curry or Nash

I think people may be overvaluing Curry's defense. He has improved, but it was just last season that Klay was tasked to cover the opponents PGs because Curry couldn't hang with them. I'm not going to argue that Nash was a great defender, but he was adequate in his prime. Nash was very good with his defensive angles and positioning.

Curry usually guards the other team's point guard. That's out of pure necessity because he's not big enough to guard anyone else. Even if it's true for last year (which I don't remember), we're talking about comparing prime Nash to this year's Curry.

Curry had an out of this world 122 - 101 offensive rating to defensive rating this season. Nash did have two seasons where he had higher offensive ratings (124 in 2006-2007 and 123 in 2004-2005); however he had defensive ratings of 110 and 111 respectively in those seasons. Prime Nash will get you a few more points on offense, but he'll give up about 10 more points on defense.

With regard to the playoffs, Nash's best ratings were in 2005-2006 when he had an offensive rating of 120 and a defensive rating of 116 and in 2009-2010 (122 offensive rating to 117 defensive rating). So far in this year's playoffs, Curry is at 118 offensive rating to 102 defensive rating.

It's no knock on Curry to say that Nash was better at making his team better because Nash was one of the best ever at making the players around him better. Also I think Nash was more consistent and turnover the ball less. But I don't think Curry hit his peak let, so I'll say Nash now and maybe Curry later.
