Any thoughts on who comes up?

Probably Broadway. Or Okert, who's been pitching well. And with Javy off to a slow start, might need some lefty insurance.

I also think Mac will be sent down tomorrow or Wednesday and Lee will come up.

Are they really going to continue with 13 pitchers? I would guess Lee gets a call up and Gardeck goes to the 60 day DL. If they call up a pitcher, I would guess Broadway or Okert.

OK, before Marco gets hospitalized with an aneurism...

Gardeck was not DFA'd. He was outright released. Since he is injured, he cannot be "waived". The Giants reportedly have every interest in resigning him, but Gardeck is free to go where ever he likes at this point.

The Giants did a move very similar to this with Strickland a few years back...

Wonder why they didn't just put him on the 60 day?

As for Mazzaro, he certainly deserved the promotion. I hope we get vintage 2013 version of Mazzaro.

$$$

If he is out on the 60, he gets paid MLB min AND his clock runs. By releasing him, they likely resign him and still only pay him the minor league rate (which I believe is a standard rate based on level and service time).

Slightly risky, but given the circumstances, I think it is reasonable.

Mazarro DFA'd
Albert Suarez added to 40 and 25

note:
This is NOT the prospect Andrew Suarez. This is the minor league FA the Giants signed in the off-season.
