Okert and Blanks sent down as well.
And he has been both so far this spring, hitting around .500.I don't know about that. If healthy (a big if, admittedly), he's been a solid contributor.

I don't see any big surprises in the OF this spring. The one of Parker and Williamson who gets sent down is probably the one they like better, so he can play everyday.
I think both will be sent down. Gorkys was the fastest guy I saw in Arizona. He's a RH Blanco, and I loves me some White Shark. My guess:
C: Posey, Brown (Sac to DL)
IF: BB9, JP, Stamos, Duffman, KT, EA
OF: Herk, Span, Oxy, Shark, RHShark
SP: Bum, JC, SammyJam, Peaved, Horse
RP: KCya, Romo, JLo, Strick, Osich, Greek, Hesto

I like Gorkys, and would love to keep him in the fold. But he has a skillset we have in spades. Parker has a skillset we do NOT have (pure power off the bench).
Gorkys = Blanco = Pagan (in basic skillsets)
Nice problem to have.
One thing in Blackburn's favor, aside from the fact that the kid can pitch, he can hit as well. Maybe not Bum's power, but the kid can rake.
Many speculating that Clayton is now the #6 SP, and not Moses.
Both are solid 4/5s on most MLB teams right now. The Giants are deep at SP.I think we'd be nuts NOT to use Moses as #6
I still think a 6-man rotation is worth looking at, at least until the ASB. Then go with the best five.
That can be accommodated. There is no rule that says your SPs have to go in the same sequence everytime.I am not in favor of less starts for Bum and JC.
Understood. But ponder these ERA's so far:It really sucks that the Giants are not going to win the Cactus League Championship this year.
Do you think we will be able to get anything good for Bum if we traded him now?
But these guys are not TRYING to get outs. They are trying to get their work in and trying to find their slots. In thise situations, they are pitching while OCMPLETELY ignoring the batter and the situation. They may, for example, be throwing 15 consecutive curveballs just to get the feel of it, or throwing a repetitive cycle of pitches (FB, CB, SL, FB, CB, SL,...) so they can get used to changing grips.
ERA means next to nothing. However, almost all of the SPs have very nice peripherals (Ks, BBs, etc)

But so far, neither Bum nor Cueto look like they are ready to go 6+ innings every 5th game. There's only a week to go here. Just saying.
