Some roster moves announced.
Mark Mathias to the 60 day IL and both Hjelle and Ramos optioned (wish they would have sent down Meckler and given Ramos more playing time).
Harrison's contract purchased and Walker activated.
I wonder if DeJong will be activated tomorrow.

The Mathias move seems sketchy but he has yet to play a game in Sacramento since his IL placement.

Michael Conforto has a left hamstring strain and is going on IL, Heliot Ramos is back. Also Johan Camargo cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A.

That cannot be possible. There is a 7 day window before clearing waivers. Camargo was dfa'd 2 days ago. And he will have the right to become a free agent if (once) he clears waivers. Considering he has walked away from two other organizations this year, that could be a good possibility.

Maybe his contract was assigned to AAA, but he has a right to decline?

Even though Camargo clearing doesn’t make sense, I confirmed the move myself.

Expectation is 4-6 weeks for Forto.

I think this all but guarantees he opts in for 2024

From mlb:

As for Camargo, the veteran infielder was designated for assignment on Wednesday. He appeared in eight games between the time San Francisco selected his minor league contract and DFAd him after signing Paul DeJong. Camargo collected four hits (all singles) and a walk in 20 trips to the plate.

He’ll have the right to head back to free agency. Camargo only signed with the Giants 12 days ago but could explore other landing spots now that DeJong has jumped him on the depth chart.

I'd love to know why MLB doesn't follow the rules that they have posted from the CBD. Or is that 7 day period a maximum?

"When a player's contract is designated for assignment -- often abbreviated "DFA" -- that player is immediately removed from his club's 40-man roster. Within seven days of the transaction (had been 10 days under the 2012-16 Collective Bargaining Agreement), the player can either be traded or placed on irrevocable outright waivers."

Freudian slip?

From Slusser:

Brebbia will throw another sim game tomorrow and then probably heads on a rehab assignment.
