Proctor is an odd choice to replace Bart. He's only played 4 games with Sacramento, but none of them have been at catcher. He's started 2 games at 3rd base, 1 game at 2nd base and 1 game at the position cal cannot stand. He did catch 52 games with Durham this year. Just seems weird the Giants would acquire, not play him yet at catcher but see him as the 3rd catcher for the big league club.

An MRI showed an ankle sprain for Joey Bart. He was available in an emergency yesterday and Giants are hopeful he can play Friday after the off day.

Bart, in an emergency. Wynns was staying in the game outside of an injury.

A good sign for Joey Bart’s health status as Mercedes, Proctor, and Knapp were all in last night's game for Sacramento. All 3 were alternatives to replace Bart if he needed an IL stint.
