ESPN Dallas reports the Cowboys want DeMarco Murray to gain weight.

Murray currently tips the scales at 208 pounds. The Cowboys list him at 215 on the team's official website. They want him to be 216. Murray weighed in at 213 at the 2011 Combine. The Cowboys wanted Felix Jones to gain weight a couple years ago, and he was never the same player after. Murray already struggles to make defenders miss. Asking him to gain weight may not be the right move.

Well if he can't make defenders miss at 208lbs maybe he needs the extra weigh to fight through the tackles. Murray is an explosive back when he can get away from a would be tackler. The problem is, him escaping tackles is becoming rare. I wish Murray was able to break tackles the way J. Charles did Thursday night.

What Murray need to do is increase his lower body strength. If that adds a lb or two fine.

Murray fought off a few tacklers Sunday.... KC just swarmed him. bythe time he pushed away from one three more were on him.
I always thought the best part of his game was his vision. Not his speed or power. Problem is the Line isn't opening ANY holes through the middle.

Can't argue the line point. What's odd is linemen normally prefer run blocking vs. Pass blocking.

He doesn't need to gain freaking weight any more than Felix did. I wonder if this came from an actual coach or from Jerry.
