Damn you trying to get him for a "geek monster" price. I think it would at least take 5-6 mil for him to even consider playing for the Cowboys.

Actually read an article on pass rushers in the league when free agency started. To see what the numbers don't show.
Of all the pass rushers in the league. Allen getting pressure on the Qb was one of the lowest.

Of all the snaps he takes he only gets pressure on the Qb 10.6% of the time. Pretty much he either gets a sack or doesn't get close.
Which Rods defense isn't really about sacks. It's about pressure and forcing the Qb to throw early so I'm not sure Allen is a true fit for this defense if he's not getting constant pressure

This isn't the article I read ..... but says pretty much the same thing.

It's combines Sacks, Hits, and hurries.

This article only shows the top 10 and the worst 10 in the league ( with a minimum of 200 chances to rush the Qb)

When it is all said & done we need to draft some young studs on the Dline, hopefully Jerry doesn't throw us a curve ball like last years second round pick

He was the 3rd ranked tight end coming out last year behind Zach Ertz and Tyler Eifert. ( He had a 2nd round grade)

Would have been in the running for best coming out but ran a slow 40 at the combine (4.8 )

6-6 254 ...... My guess would be Tony Gonzalez type is what they are hoping for.

Kid has good hands (unlike Hanna)
Can't see a linebacker or safety out jumping him

Not much of a run blocker (maybe can improve like Witten did)

uhhhhhhhh I kinda think Eifert will hold that title.

But I do think he will be good. Kid catches everything with his hands and has some long arms so he can catch balls that are over thrown or under thrown thrown high or thrown low.

The only thing bad about the kid. Is where he was taken at on this team.
Obviously Witten is gonna get the majority of balls his way.
So unless something was to happen to our Iron Man Witten..... I don't think he will be appreciated by the fan base.

Plus obviously we had greater needs in the 2nd round last year. But thats not the kids fault. That's Jerry being Jerry

I know who & where he was picked is the backleash from Cowboys fans. That is I wanted to know actually how good he was on his own merit. I am more concerned with Mo earning his keep, I was shocked the year of the draft when they said the Cowboys traded up...

Im gonna hold off on Mo
injuries and learning a new scheme is never an easy duo

Hell just look at how Free bounced back after a year in a zone blocking scheme. Let's just hope BOTH Mo and Carr improve that much after having a year under their belt.

If not whoa :L
That's a trade up and a huge contract pissed away for nothing

Why trade draft picks & pay $50 million for press corners & stick them in a zone scheme. I bet Rex would love to have our corners...

even if it doesn't work out. I wont be mad about the trade to get him. I was very happy we attempted to fix a problem at CB. I was all for the move. Not all top picks work out. This is a fact of life, but I wont say it was a dumb move when the whole time I was happy we did it.

One of the reasons I'm a huge Zimmer fan is that he adjust his scheme to fit his players. Rather than try to adjust the players to fit his scheme. And he's damn good at it.

Only thing about playing man press coverage is you need two things with it.
A great pass rush .....

and well above average safeties. Which we haven't had in a very long time.

yeah I agree on all of this. Just saying I wont be hypocritical on the trade to get him. I honestly didn't hear to many people upset when we did this. But figure if it doesn't work out, a lot of cowboy fans would talk of how stupid the move was, even though none were speaking up during the moment.

I honestly didn't know enough about him but from what I heard I was onboard, although I must say I was a big fan of Gilmore @ our orginal pick but he would have been long gone anyway.

Best in his class??? Lets hope he plays like a #2 on his own team first. Shitty blocker and 9 catches last year in a lot of snaps says he's got a llllllloooooooooooooooonnnnnnngggggg way to go.

Not his fault he was drafted by a team who has a HOF TE & a idiotic coaching staff that doesn't know how to use a two TE set...

#13 Personnel was a Joke :laugh3:

On a side note of that

run a two TE set .... The second TE is supposed to be a blocker . ( IE Bennett)

Witten is an average blocker .... But when he retires .... No one is gonna talk about his blocking skills

Fuck nuts in New England .... Hernandez ..... was a hella run blocker

Football is a ying and yang deal. Each player should compliment each other. Not be the same clone
