I will say this much before I get attacked but given the division you guys are in if I was a redskins fan I would be more aggressive in trying to make the playoffs. I would want my team to sign Cam Newton on a 1 year deal.

The Giants have a young team Daniel jones does look good but they are still trying to figure things out between coaches and players to build a winning locker room.

The Cowboys have a QB controversy and even if Dak signs the 1 year tag the moment he struggles the media will blast for Dalton to be put in which is all a recipe for a disaster

The Eagles usually only win around 9 games on average if you take out their super bowl run

I would say go for it, if the NFC East was stacked and there were 2 teams that are trying to make a run at a super bowl I would say forget it and tank but I think 9-10 wins can get you into the playoffs. I think Newton and Haskins are similar somewhat in their styles so Haskins sitting behind Newton is better to me than being thrown out there on a team not yet convinced they are trying to win.

So let me ask you this:

Since the Redskins are not the only NFL franchise doing their due diligence when it comes to evaluating QBs why is Cam Newton the odd man out with all of the QB movement in the NFL in recent weeks? The answer is simple . . . he is damaged goods after taking far to many hits at Carolina while running with the football. RR knows this better than anyone even though he will probably not say it publicly.

Hahahahaha

So it would be wrong to give up on Burrow after one season but many of you want to give up on Haskins after one season?

Does the second season make it better to give up on them?

The Bengals are a mess but we aren’t?

Bengals have a brighter future and more talent then Skins. Unwise to throw stones

Also Joe Burrow is not Haskins.

Not every draft pick is created equal. Burrow is a head and shoulders superior prospect to Haskins. Haskins doesn't even get drafted round 1 in 2020 or 2021

If Haskins didn't declare after 2019 he might even go undrafted or transfer. Fields transferred January 2019 and would have easily beat out Haskins for the starting gig.

Do they? That is interesting.

QB...Joe Burrow was beat out by Dwayne Haskins. The only difference is Haskins didn’t win the national championship.

RB...I will take Guice and Love over Joe Mixon.

WR...I will take McLauren over Green at this point.

TE...theirs are as bad as ours.

OL...they have nothing to be proud of.

Front seven...um...ours is far more talented.

Defensive backfield...they may have us there.

Burrow would have been the 6th rated QB in 2019, Haskins was drafted at 15. Burrow would have been drafted no earlier than the second round if he got lucky.

Making these comparisons, what's your point, that projecting to 2020-2021 Haskins doesn't get drafted in round one? Great!

How about my counter? Don't like that one?

so you think Haskins is a better prospect then burrow?

Yep! Absolutely, given that they are both one year wonders, Haskins in D.C. has a far greater chance at success than Burrow in Cincy.

QB: Bengals
RB: Bengals (not close IMO, Mixon is good)
WR: Bengals and this isn’t even close
OLine: Bengals slightly getting Jonah Williams back is big
Front 7: slight advantage redskins. Bengals have a good front 4
Secondary: bengals

I’m not going to lie I am blown away that there are people that actually believe that Haskins is a better prospect then Burrow

it’s laughable to be honest

Articulate what makes Burrow a better prospect. Don’t just say he is.

Again...one of these men has beaten the other out in a straight up competition. The winner was not named Burrow.

Burrow threw for the most TD in NCAA history and helped win a National Championship. Is he better, who knows right now. That is an argument for 5 or 10 years down the road. It is entirely possible that Burrow improved. Robert Griffin beat out Cousins, who is better?

Johnny Unitas got cut by Pittsburgh …. don't even know who the Steeler QB was but who was better?

Burrow-402/527 for 76.3 completion percentage. 60/6 TD/int
Haskins- 373/533 for 70 completion percentage. 50/8

Ohio State lost one game in 2018 and it was a game they should not have lost. If we would like, we can compare surrounding talent as well, because in 2020 LSU had 5 first round picks, OSU in 2019 had 2. LSU had 2 second round picks, OSU had one. LSU had 3 thirds, OSU had 2.

I agree it is an argument for down the road but the better prospect was the question. When Redskin fans don’t even want to give their QB a chance, that is a problem. I simply want people to articulate a position and be able to say why. Looking simply at stats isn’t good enough, especially in a college realm because how good was Ty Detmer and Colt Brennan, both of whom set NCAA records. How good was Jamarcus Russell and his NCAA championship?

It is possible that Burrow improved, no argument. That would also mean that Haskins is capable of improving, unless he hit his ceiling. I can articulate why I am not a Joe Burrow fan and believe he is overrated. I watched Burrow play in exactly one game. I saw a ball with no zip and thought to myself countless times during the game, in the NFL that is an interception.

RG3 was definitely better during his rookie season than KC.

Unitas was cut by the Steelers because the coach thought he was not smart enough to play. How many snaps in practice did the coach give him? Zero. So did Ted Marchibroda, yes that Ted Marchibroda, beat out Unitas or was Unitas never given a shot? I think it is rather obvious Unitas was never given a shot, I mean literally zero snaps.
