I see your point but I'm talking about this using the information that has been given to me by law enforcement. And they say he hit a cop in the jaw, not that he brushed him with his finger.

Obviously I agree with you about the risk reward. Hell I thought he should have been taken in the late 4th to mid 5th tops.

Lincoln Police Capt. Jason Stille said officers tried to break up a fight between Dennard and a 22-year-old man outside a Lincoln bar shortly after 2 a.m. Saturday. Dennard hit the man before punching an officer who tried to intervene in the head, Stille said.

He was arrested after a brief struggle with four officers, police said. The officer hit in the head did not seek medical treatment.

Dennard, originally from Rochelle, Ga., was held Saturday in the Lancaster County jail on suspicion of assault of a police officer, third-degree assault and resisting arrest.

He got in a fight outside a bar at 2 in the morning. He punched a cop in the head. This is quoted by the Lincoln police and unless you have some video showing other wise I will go with that. Then he fought with four cops before being subdued. This is the shit you see crack heads doing on COPS.

I am no angel. I got in my share of trouble at that age but I was a fucking idiot too. I was out of control and couldn't think past my next drink and piece of ass. And I knew it. I would of never expected anyone to defend me for the stupid shit I did. I was out of control.

However I do consider myself to be a real man now.
I have raised a family keeping a roof over their heads and the bills paid on time.
I have provided for all their needs and many of their wants.
I have been faithfully married for 25 years this fall.
I give my word and take pride in the fact that my word is good as gold to anyone who knows me.
I can walk into any bank, auto lot, furniture store, anywhere and immediately get a loan approved because I have 20 plus year history of paying my debts on time, keeping my word.

But I am not a real man because I recognize that a fucking guy who is fighting with cops is out of control? He is way out of control right now. May not always be but right now he is.

If that means I can't be a real man if I think this because he was a Husker and that means he can do no wrong then I will take that as a good thing. That is not the "real man" of my generation.

The point is Dennard will be great......and he has no track record of getting in trouble, so he likely won't be in anymore trouble.

Had this incident happened 6 months ago then it's a non-issue as far as his draft status goes.....but since it happened close to the draft, he pays for it and all the teams who would have benefited from picking him up have to pay for it as well

Plus his stock had been dropping also because of his physical ability in press coverage. There are only a handful of teams that play that way. He fit what the Patriots do and will be a decent player.

To an extent........they pay attention to all the SportsHoopla.......

It's just like these "5-star" athletes............you can watch film and see that some of these kids are just average, but they get all this attention because they are popular player in high school and then you see the USC's and the Ohio State's of the world blindly recruiting them.

Just assume the worst that you possibly can........that is what everyone wants to do.........because that creates the most drama and is the most entertaining, and then we can all talk about it.

This terrific event should end up having an effect on everything that the young man does for the rest of his life.

You should have heard how it sounded when the espn anchor at the draft had to read off the charges brought against Dennard. It was bad. No one is making those up or making any more drama out of it than what it is dude.

If anything ye are kinda making a big deal out of criticizing people who are just talking about the facts of what happened according to the actual verbatim report by police.
