Drive-by post.

WPG was well represented in Smashville Saturday for the epic tilt with the hometown Preds. Interestingly, there were several from Atlanta who came up for the game, they still follow the Thrashers/Jets.

Nice young (30s) couple sat in front of us. Mrs BGDave asked me "why would they come from Winnipeg?" to which I replied "to defrost"

Uh oh, the young lady of the couple has vulcan ears and heard me LOL. She turned around and immediately agreed.

They drove down from WPG to Fargo and caught a direct flight to NSH. Said they had like 5 feet of snow.

As a test, I asked them if they found the Labatt's concession at Bridgestone. They gave the correct answer "yeahhhhh, but its not very good beer". So I knew they were legit.

At one point, Nashville tried to ice the puck but didnt get it quite to the end. I said (apparently I am loud) "I guess they needed a couple sweepers". That's when I knew who were the Canucks in our area, because they all laughed.

Sadly the Jets prevailed in OT, somehow Josi got injured and the 23 Playoff "run" for the Predators is officially over. But an enjoyable Saturday afternoon, thanks in part to the good people of Winnipeg who came to visit.

So this was kind of buried today but the Jets ownership (you know, the ones the fans chant out during every anthem because they love their billionaires so much in those parts) are basically saying buy more tickets or we’re moving.

Jets winning tonight takes a little of the sting out of the Flames losing last night.

Sure, one in Glendale and one in Phoenix. Two totally different places.

There's gotta be at lease 2 5,000 seat arenas for them to play in.
