Gotta disagree with you here. If you look at the two finalists this year you see the way the NHL is going. Scoring may be down but keeping the puck on your team's stick and attacking with some creativity seems to be the recipe for success. That is the antithesis of Lemaire's game for the last 20 years.

Lemaire is a system guy who, with Babcock already there, seems redundant at best and possibly counter-productive.

From what I recall Lemaire's teams were always good at getting the puck back in the neutral zone after they'd lost it, which has been a particular weakness of the Leafs over the last couple of years.

Apparently, that's the case.

Grabner could also bring in a decent pick at the deadline if he has an okay season. Guess it's all part of the #Shanaplan.

Toronto just clearing contracts but Taylor Beck is an actual NHL player. The prospects all look pretty second-tierl to me. Grabner is a good add too. Never hurts to have more speed.
