But wait... by playing so many games in the AHL last year means that Nylander has already burned a year of his ELC and is one year closer to UFA?

That kinda sucks for the Leafs when they could have just waited until this year.

Nope, AHL time doesn't burn the year I don't believe.

According to GF, he still has all 3 years on it.

Maybe a different arrangement for Euros but Shane Prince just had to sign a new contract after his ELC after spending 3 years (plus 2 games last year in the show) in the AHL. :noidea:

Yep, I believe it's different because Prince was already 20 when he started playing in the AHL

I think the Leaf blogging community would have self-imploded had they burned a year of Nylander's ELC on an AHL stint when he was already playing in a pro league lol

I got this from wiki:

For players signing their entry-level contract at age 18 or 19 (but who will not turn 20 in the same calendar year that the entry-level contract was signed), a season of professional experience is at least 10 NHL games played, and at least four such seasons must be accrued for arbitration eligibility. For players signing their entry-level contract at age 20 (or who will turn 20 in the same year that the entry-level contract is signed), a season of professional experience is at least 10 professional (non-collegiate) games played, and at least four such seasons must be accrued for arbitration eligibility. For players signing their entry-level contract at age 21 or older, arbitration eligibility comes at the expiration of a player's first contract.

Leafs' prospect Viktor Lööv - There is a lot of cocaine in the NHL.

In the NHL, there are a lot of cocaine. There are certainly in the AHL too but I have not seen anything, no team mate what I know. I know it is. Sure, it is so the talking goes but I'm sure it's not just talk. There are players everywhere who are doing it. If you have money then surely it is easier to get hold of it. Then you might be a little different attitude towards it over there than in Sweden. Not cocaine, perhaps, but hashish and stuff that you smoke, it encountered the on everywhere, all the time, says Viktor.

Setoguchi and Glencross cut, Boyes signed for the season, Marner sent back to London.

But those Zajac rumours won't go away. Latest theory is centred around Bozak and Lupul heading to NJ.

Why, salary dump? Purge the room?

Centred :pound:good one.
Fucking iPad.

I honestly have no idea. I'd rather keep the two buffoons for 3 years than have Zajac around for an extra 3 years at that money.

Now, if NJ ate, say, a million+/yr that may change things.

They've got Babcock now. That's got to count for something.

Which reminds me, if The Saviour decides to keep Nylander and Brown up with the big team I might kidnap them and hold them at a ransom of "send them back to the Marlies". This team might just be 2014-15 Sabres bad.
