I think he's had more excuses made for him than anybody who's come through this town in quite some time. Scapegoats aren't rewarded with $4 million+/yr contracts. He's just been bad this year, Randy or no Randy.

On the other side of the coin though, players having "excuses made for them" aren't rewarded by being healthy scratches.

They've ruined Jake. I don't know if he can be saved, but I'd bet he can be.

How, exactly, have they ruined him? I'll gladly accept that he was scratched at times last season where he shouldn't have been, but they gave him a fat contract and ice time this season and he's been steamy garbage. I'm failing to see where this falls on anybody but the player.

I didn't say that the numbers supported that position though. I think I've already made it clear that i dont think the 2014-15 numbers are going to tell us much since the 3 of them have played together so much. You seemed to be making the case that they can tell us something. So I'm asking you what the numbers are and what the case is.

They've consistently attempted to turn him into a low risk low reward player (hell Randy freely admits this) which seems like the exact opposite of what he needs to be successful.

I don't know what article you were reading. The one I read was CLEARLY a resounding endorsement of Nonis.
