is that $4MM number for Giroux just find of a pipe dream, or are you hearing that somewhere.

This is his first crack at UFA, he had 65 points last year (plus 8 in 10 playoff games), with a cap hit of $8.275MM
I know his actual cash last season was $5MM, but not sure he's looking at a pay cut in his UFA year.

Going by Friedman saying he's building a house in Ottawa and might want to stay close while playing for a team with playoff ambitions. That limits the closest proximity teams to pretty much Toronto and eastern teams to Florida, Carolina, NYR, NYI or Boston and none of them could really fit him for much more than that outside Carolina.

Why I said it depends on whether he still wants to get paid because he can definitely get more elsewhere but it would be on a team at a various stage of a rebuild or out west where he didn't seem keen on going at the deadline and according to the "insiders" still isn't.

I hate the in between time of the season and the draft/free agency , it's the amount of speculation that is annoying

Nick Kypreos is saying 32 year old Kadri with one point-per-game season under his belt is gonna get between $8-10 mil/yr so...yeah lol

This has become much more concerning in the past few days. Sounds like Sandin is pissed they kept Gio and have Rielly & Muzz ahead still on the left.

Still don't think anybody's offer sheeting him but if this ends up in a scenario where the Leafs trade him to help with a cap dump or some shit that might be as far as I go with Dubas.

Someone out there will take a chance with Muzzin. You don't lose young controllable cheap talent because an injury-prone aging veteran is blocking a spot for him. It's pretty obvious the club likes Jake but what's in the best interest of the club is far more important.
I doubt they’re the only ones.

Heard from someone in the know that the dude’s thumb was caught in a tag line and he was hanging by that most of the time. The thumb eventually separated from the rest of the hand but he was low enough that the fall wasn’t bad.

Helped that he’s a bodybuilder and grabbed as well as he could with the other.

Is the newly released Leafs schedule broken? It only lists game until mid April?

Not saying wholesale Murray might not be worth a flutter in the hopes he can perform around replacement value but there has to be something better out there.

Kyle’s gotta get his mind outta the Soo.

Really hope the plan is to somehow get a bonafide no. 1 in goal with the Mrazek savings.

If Lambert actually pans out for Winnipeg it’s gonna be a really shitty feeling knowing the Leafs could’ve taken him but gave up the draft spot to dump last year’s goalie mistake so they can sign Husso or Raanta or whoever’s gonna be this year’s mistake.

His father before the interview: "Son, this is hard but you need to forget all of that shit-talking I do about Toronto. Complement the media, say the people are some of the best on earth and definitely mention that you love the Jays & Raptors."

This is when I side with the "Leafs fans can be absolutely delusional crowd". Yeah, it's not god-awful that the Leafs dropped 13 spots in the 1st/2nd round to dump a contract and accrue cap space. Most people get that. It's the fact that it was Dubas fixing Dubas' mistake that was pretty apparently a mistake very early on that's a bit of a piss off. It's totally fine to call that out.

I also don't see any of the cheerleaders who are defending this pointing out that Dubas could've traded that pick down if he was telling the truth about "the guy we wanted got picked" (hint: he wasn't lol) and accrued more assets had he just not signed a shitty goalie to a shitty, long-term contract that aged like milk. Maybe Minten turns out to be good. Chicago had 38 and 39, if the Leafs traded down for those two picks and got Minten and whoever else the opportunity cost of dumping Mrazek looks a lot worse. Kind of ironic coming from a fan base who spent the earlier afternoon once again cursing Mark Hunter for not taking Alex Debrincat in the 2nd round in 16.

And while I'm hopeful, the chances of Amirov being a top-tier talent in the league are probably rather slim (not that that matters at all given his current circumstance).

Glad we have all those playoff wins to show for it!

Heading to Montreal in October with wifey to visit daughter who just moved there. Managed to score tickets for opening night on the 12th -- Leafs vs Habs.
Can you pick me up one of those Wright Choice shirts from the team shop?

They'll probably be on clearance.
