I wouldn't be opposed to Pierre as a scouting director or something, or President of Hockey Ops. Don't want him as the GM.

Right now the Pens are being run by Mario, Burkle, and Morehouse, none of them are actual Front Office hockey men, they might be using Pierre to get some info of the other candidates since he is probably very familiar with them.

And really I hate the Pens executive structure, the new GM will report to David Morehouse, the team CEO, but he is a career executive with experience mainly in political campaigns, not hockey. I don't get why he would oversee hockey ops in any capacity and it terrifies me that Lemieux and Burkle think he is qualified.

Yup. Heard it straight from Pierre himself.

Pens beat writers have basically said that the rumors are coming from Pierre/his "people" and not the Pens.

Hasn't stopped sports radio from spending the afternoon talking themselves into it. I don't care that the man is a creeper and just weird, I care that he doesn't, in my opinion, give them the best chance to win.

So when does the 210 for Kunitz (a convicted hair puller I might add) and Engelland trade go down?

McGuire Hiring Presser

Reporter: So how do plan on making the Penguins consistent Stanley Cup contenders?

Pierre: What is my philosophy on building a winning team? Well I think we need guys who come out of the shower strong. Some big body presence is what this club needs. We need to did deep and find monsters from places FarYESSStad and Skellefteea. We need to find kids who were ultimate competitors and warriors for the peewee Rockland Voyaguerrrrs organization. We just need to raise our intensive maximum compete level. Then KABONGO...we've a got club that is a first class organization, similar to the GGGrande Prairrriee Storm of the AJHL.

Mario: Sigh. On an unrelated topic we'll be having another press conference in about 15 minutes.

Apparently someone talked to Scotty Bowman and he endorsed Pierre because the best thing a GM can do is go out and watch the players, and that's what Pierre does...and so that's why sports guys in Pittsburgh are suddenly okay with the idea. They're apparently ignoring his lacking resume.

Yeah, seems like he would be a good scout on some level, amateur or advanced NHL scout. But he hasn't worked for a team in 20 years, it's real easy to have opinions when no is keeping track how often you are wrong.

The same Scotty Bowman who has a high level job in a different organization that is approaching dynasty and who is personally well served when every other team is weaker, particularly the top tier teams? That Scotty Bowman?

During interviews you can see that McGuire knows quite about hockey and the NHL. The problem is that he develops man crushes on certain players. This is about as bad a trait you can have from a management perspective.

Are you saying that if Lucky Pierre becomes the next GM of the Penguins, Dustin Tokarski will soon be heading to Pittsburgh?

You can bet on a trade for Brent Seabrook also.

And maybe Hal Gill.

Maybe Dutchy as some sort of AGM.
