Hell I bet Kevin Stevens, Mark Recchi, Dan Quinn (someone needs to carry Mario's golf bag), Larry Murphy, Tom Barrasso, Joey Mullen, Troy Loney, Bob Errey, Phil Bourque and Rob Brown are in on this also. :D

This is surprising. I thought he would have a chance on the Penguins this season.

He certainly would have been in the mix, but he seemed to want to be guaranteed the roster spot, and I think it's the right choice not to just give it to him.

Yep I agree. They have plenty of players in this same scenario, stinks he isn't sticking around to see if he could make it.

I guess he wants to take the same route as someone like Hallander. Who played well overseas and seems close to a lock to make the Penguins this season.
