My grandfather always tried to get balls to break left late (he was a lefty) like that but never quite got it right. He would dip sidearm somewhere between normal and submarine and he could get it to move an inch or two but control was poor (and of course hitters picked up on the arm motion). He tried to teach me how he did it, but couldn't get it unless I fully submarined it (or threw a tennis ball). It was helpful when I played catcher because I could really drop 'em in at second on SB attempts. And of course, neither of us was anywhere near what you'd call high velocity.

That right there is fucking filthy.
