Hitchcock was retired too.

And I doubt that the Jackets stand by Torts if Bread or Duchene says "he's a main reason I don't want to come back".

I mean, if Darryl's what you're in the market for you might as well keep Torts? Kinda cut from the same cloth there.

If that's the case, why is he still there? It's not even like the Jackets struggling is something recent or indicative of a post-deadline slump - since Jan. 18 they've won 8 games in 19 and picked up only 16 of 38 available points. If he's on his way out what's the hold up and if he isn't how bad does this "all in" team need to play before he is?

FTR I am pulling for the Jackets to get in because I feel like if they don't no GM will go "all in" like this again for 20 years and the trade deadline will be boring again.

Well I'm hoping he sticks around at least to finish the year. And if they sign Duchene he can stay next year too!!

Sutter isn't exactly my first choice (honestly my first choice was Trotz last year). Was just using him as an example of a quality available coach.

I am not sure why Torts has been given a stay of execution. I mean it's no secret he is publicly feuding with popular players in the room, even having shipped one off after trashing him badly. The power play sucks and all he did was put the old coach back on it from last year when it sucked only a little less. He had to hire Marty St Louis to "reach" some players. I think there have been signs of his shelf life expiring early on in the season. As you point out, their record since Christmas has been pretty terrible.

Maybe he went to management and said he can't with with what he has and needed more talent. Now he has more and he still can't win.

Maybe it's time to let John Madden have a crack at it (Cleveland coach) before we lose him like we lost Bednar.

The dead cat bounce of firing him now might just get us in. Maybe we can trade him for Sullivan.

Well I'm hoping he sticks around at least to finish the year. And if they sign Duchene he can stay next year too!!

You hush

I swear to God and sonny Jesus if Torts throws a fit after this one, he needs to go. He's close to his home. Leave him the fuck there.

He is mixing up the lines so no chemistry can be had, picking random guys to scratch and has everyone afraid to take a chance and make a play because if they fuck up they will get benched. This is a lethargic and pathetic performance against essentially an AHL team.

Through 2 periods we have 9 shots on goal.

That was the most angry I have been after a win in years.

No chance we beat Pittsburgh tomorrow. I just can't see it.

Maybe if Murray magically heals we have a shot?

I am actually hoping that Kinkaid gets a shot in net. He is Penguin Kryptonite.

Harrington needs to be benched and the forward lines need to spend more than 2 shifts together. The line blender is in infuriating. Bjorkstrand was on all four lines yesterday.

Kinkaid should be starting one of these games, no matter what. I would have told them last week that they were splitting the pens games.
