LMFAO!! Do you really think the SEC is really that good this year? Arky, South Carolina, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Miss State, Vandy, Missouri, Georgia and Kentucky are no better than the weak teams in the PAC 12 this year. Yes Bama is a very good team and Auburn and LSU are decent this year.

But you but USC up there in the good win category for UW? A team that lost to Stanford

When I look through the top 25 there's only one thing I can say for sure. Alabama is the best team in the land right now and it's not really close. Just about every team in the rankings can beat any other team on any given day. Even the 9th place team in the Pac went on the road and took A&M to overtime. I'm pretty sure Washington would have a pretty good chance of beating them.

I can play the "barely beat" game too. Washington needed OT to beat Arizona, a team even worse than UCLA

The reasoning would be Rutgers, Idaho, and Portland St.
I'm starting to think the Pac 12 in general has something to do with it, too.

I dont agree with A&M in the top 4, but doesnt matter. It will play itself out. Not sure we need 15 pages of bitching about it, but SportsHoopla going to SportsHoopla

I agree. UW can write their own check by winning out. But if the falter even one game, all bets are off. And just being in the discussion is a bit heady for this team, considering their past twenty years.

We are in the same boat. Aggie football has been down since the late 90s. We had a little splash in 2012 with a good record and beating Bama and OU in the bowl, but in general A&M football has crap since 98. Also, this was supposed to be a lost season for A&M after the QB's bolted and ran. The O/U for wins was 7.5 or even 6.5 in some places.

I really think the playoff voters don't look at the conference schedule at all. For the most part it is what it is. The control, and what distinguishes teams are simply their OOC.

At this point, you're probably right. The Pac 12 being down overall definitely doesn't help things, though.

Auburn plays Alabama, Clemson, Texas A&M and LSU. Washington loses 3 of those.
Washington beats them all but Bama. Clemson is not looking like an elite team, A&M simply isn't one, and LSU is entirely one-dimensional.

And I agree with the point Wiz made about the message they're sending about weak OOC scheduling. If this leads to better scheduling, that'd be great. It's not like we as fans, especially season ticket holders, want to see our team play 3 warm up games.

We used to consistently have among the toughest OOC schedules from year to year, but I think they realized getting your ass kicked before you even hit conference play wasn't helping the rebuilding process, so they started to go the other way with it. Probably about time to go back to having some pride in their schedule.

AGGY RANKED 4 in CFP!!!?!?!?!? Ha. Haaahhajaah has aha. Ha

Thank Gog they didn't have these rankings after week 1. Texas would have been ranked. That would have been a real joke would it.

This has to hurt you longhorn fans, doesn't it.:martini:

So what have you seen that makes Washington an elite team?

Was it the wins over teams like Portland State, Rutgers?

Beating a bad Oregon Ducks by 49?

Winning Utah (their toughest test to date) with a controversial punt return?

Just what is it that makes you think Washington is an elite team? Maybe it's because its the PAC 12 after dark and I just missed it, but I don't see anything that screams the Huskies are an elite team. Maybe they are, but nothing tells me they are there yet.

I don't see UW as that dominant. Good, yes. But a no brainer to beat Clemson? Please.

As far as the controversial punt return, give me a break. I'm guessing you didn't watch the game if that's what you're pointing to to try to devalue the UW win.

I think they're an extremely talented, well-coached team who has answered the bell every game this year so far. I think they'd be more competitive with Alabama than A&M was. They have a fantastic, young offense and a very efficient pass rush.

What makes you think A&M would beat them? Struggling at home with bad UCLA and a dumpster fire Tennessee team? Struggling with South Carolina? Beating up on Prairie View and New Mexico State?
