"The Biden administration needs to take this seriously. Their initial response is, 'Oh, this is a private pipeline,' and just shrug their shoulders. This is important infrastructure for our country, and it could impact our economy greatly if they don't respond."
-Ron DeSantis, guy who didn't take virus that killed 35,000+ Floridians seriously

It's hilarious (and/or sad) to see how many Trumpettes are tweeting out their glee over the removal of Liz Cheney from the Republican Party for having the audacity to speak truth to power.

The funniest part is that her replacement voted with Trump less often than Cheney.

The GOP really needs Trump to die soon to have any chance of not being a goddamn Q-Anon political wing. There's really no other way.

Unfortunately for them I don't think he's going anywhere until he's in his 90s. Even if his poor eating habits/lack of exercise catch up he'll probably have no problem getting an organ transplant and kicking it for another 5-10 years.

Unfortunately for everyone else - if some voting restrictions laws pass it might not matter so much how much of a conspiracy party/joke the GOP is. Also unfortunate how many people actually believe or partially believe in these conspiracies.

I really do not think Gingrich gets the credit he deserves for sending the US down this path which will may eventually end the country. Touting conspiracy theories, name calling, and lableing anything the opposition wants as "radical" or "socialist". He was ahead of his time.

It will never not amuse me that Newt was leading the crusade against Bill Clinton while cheating on his wife while she dealt with MS 15 years after he cheated on his first wife while she dealt with cancer.

Not in the future, but now. He never had a heart to begin with.

Is it cheating if she has a debilitating disease? I mean, sick people can really be a buzzkill.

Sprinkling in a bit of optimism...long before Liz was removed from the GOP, my mom was removed from ever voting for GOP candidates ever again. I'm sure this isn't an isolated incident.

I do have to give the petulant man child that he is credit, in the fact he voted with Trump more than Cheney did.

See if I wanted to get suspended from Twitter again I’d mosey on over and respond with something along the lines of “sort of how you said goodbye to having functional legs?”

He is a D-student college dropout of a college I've never heard of (which is apparently an hour away from me, hahahaha) where he was accused of sexual misconduct by multiple students. In short, what Republicans call a "rising star."

The sad part for Madison Cawthorne is that his brain actually has less nerve activity than his legs, so a Tweet sputtering mostly 2- and 3-letter words is right on brand.

I don't see how it's going to change once he's gone - Cruz, Hawley, Boebart, or some other morally reprehensible piece of garbage will step into the void he leaves. Many of the Senators and Governors have clearly been courting his base so much so they were unfazed by a full-on assault of the Capitol. The worst part is that Trump is pretty stupid and not very sinister. He wants to be popular sure, but he wasn't a war hawk or seeking anything aside from enriching himself and having crowds clap for him. His actions were almost 100% predictable because his needs/desires were fully and pathetically transparent. This started with Limbaugh and Gingrich, continued through the Tea Party, and morphed into Trumpism. The Cheneys who point out the grift or the McCains who argue for a respectful exchange of ideas were repudiated. They are scared Christmas is being assaulted, that voting isn't working , and that brown/black/gay people have it too good. Those are all easy to be convinced of when you operate out of privilege and can be guided by rhetoric and fear instead of by logic and information. They don't want to change. Most of them never will. They expect the world to adapt to them, they are not empathetic to real and significant challenges our society faces (that would ironically benefit them), and they are easily swayed to policies and ideas that others convince them will help them but are in reality policies that consolidate wealth to the rich and the corporations. Trying to understand them is a waste of time. Defeat them. Over and over. We've played nice for too long. Clown stomp them into the ground.
