Cindy Brunson:

Listening to AM 620 in PHX. Browns DC Ray Horton on & said if made #Cardinals HC he would've made Norv Turner OC. Feels like swing & miss.

Would he have accepted, though?

If you take the Browns job I don't see you being above taking the Cardinals job.

You can say that but there's so much more that goes into the decision (location, relationships, compensation, overall organizational structure, etc.).

Browns and Saints converting to the 3-4.

Mary Kay Cabot: browns owner Jimmy haslam acknowledged DC ray Horton "will probably switch to a 3-4 defense."

Sean Payton's bold switch to 3-4 defense is the right move for New Orleans Saints | NOLA.com

Payton?s options for 3-4 coordinator could be limited | ProFootballTalk

Leave Mangini alone! If the 49ers lose Fangio, he'd be one of the first guys I'd want to target.

And this one has been talked about for a while:

Well, it would be hard for the Saints to be worse...

Jordan was made to play in a 3-4, so that'll help 'em. Will Smith? I don't know. If I were an NFL team, I'd want him playing LDE in a 4-3. I don't see him as much of a 3-4 DE.

Brodrick Bunkley is better as a 4-3 guy, but I always htought he could play in a 3-4. I always thought he was underrated for the Broncos too. Will he be a FA?

Sedrick Ellis just looks like another USC bust.

I don't know who they expect to play OLB in that sheme.

I'm not sure who they expect to play OLB in their 4-3 scheme. That D is really really bad.

I think you put Bunkley in the middle and try Ellis out at DE.

Bunkley signed a 5-year, $25M contract. $9.9M guaranteed. $4.5M signing bonus. First 2 years of base salaries are guaranteed. In years 2-5 he is eligible for annual $100K workout bonuses.

I agree on Bunkley. That'd probably be his best fit. Dob't think he'd be as good there as in a 4-3 though... However, Jordan & Will Smith would probably be the best guys to play DE IMO. I wouldn't love Will Smith at DE, but he'd be better than Ellis IMO. And Will Smith isn't quick enough to play OLB.

...or maybe they'll try to trade Will Smith.

This was last March he signed that deal. My bad. Forgot to include that.

Also, something to keep in mind with the Saints is their cap situation. This is what I posted earlier. I'm not sure how easy it'll be to get out of this hole, but here are the teams who are the most over the cap heading into the offseason:

Jets - 22.1M over (Again, Schefter said many believe in the NFL who have crunched the numbers believe it'll be $30+M over).

Cowboys - 19.9M over

Saints - 16.7M over

Steelers - 14.8M over

Panthers - 12.8M over

More on the Saints. From Rotoworld:

Will Smith is due $10.15 million for 2013, while Vilma is owed $6 million in the final year of his deal.
