CEH already was NOT getting goal line work so the addition of Bell may not change CEH's role much. If anything, perhaps the redzone targets to Kelce, Hill and Hardman take a hit (as well as Mahomes'passing TD stats) if Reid gives Bell goal line work.

That was actually gonna be my next question, was how much work was he actually getting...

Looked up KC's redzone stats.

KC had 48 plays called in the redzone thru 5 games.
21 rushes
27 passes

Of those 48 plays, CEH was involved in 17 of them or 35%
All other KC RB added another 5 plays.

:mad2: Really hate that ProFootball reference transferred their stats to Stathead because now they want $$$. :lm:

He may get the touches , he may excel.

I’m just pointing out that the overriding assumptionS are two things:

1) bell is pretty good
2) bell eats fairly well

But bell hasn’t played well in close to four years. All I’m saying is there is a lot of assumptions here.... bell may waltz right in and take rb1 and ball the f out.....but lemme see it.

I think both sides are over reacting.

I think Bell is very good. Name an offensive Jet that played well in the last four years?

I also think the Chiefs always planned to split. If Damien Williams didn't opt out, he and Clyde would be doing something close to what we're about to see. Darrell isn't the guy for that, and Darwin is more of a scat back, who I was intrigued with, but fumbled away his chance of being the #2.

I own Bell in three PPR leagues, and two standard. Standard he'll be TD dependent. PPR, I'm confident in a half a dozen targets per game.

78/833/6 is "well" no doubts, but thats definitely as far as the word "well" can go.

Going by that..one could easily argue that Bell's 789/3 + 66/461/1 in 15 games, was also "well"

you also may want to include that bell had 245 rushing attempts to get that 789.....and 66 catches to get that 461
But yeah

comparable to Bell, at 66/461/1 as a running back...

if Crowder is good, then Bell is good.

I would certainly be a little surprised if RZ was the only area Bell is used though. It the most obvious, most definitive way he'll affect the team, but I can't imagine there won't be a nice chunk of Bell between the 20's, as well as inside them

Darrell Williams in three games last year with at least 8 carries... (standard) 10, 15, 9 points... 3 TD, 10 catches.

Is Lev Bell not getting 8 carries? Or is he worse than Darrell Williams?

Maybe? Chiefs aren't really built to line up and kick butt at the goal line. Obviously Bell should be better suited for the role than CEH but Dorsey built a pass blocking oline and Veach has barely touched it. Osemele is hurt.

Hardman's value is up because Watkins is Watkins and he is always hurt. This is not the time to be low on his stock imo.

Chiefs have had a lot of false start and offensive holding penalties this year. I think if they can somehow clean that up then they'll be running the ball more. That said, CEH is a better football player than fantasy player. His status as a high fantasy pick was partially predicated on Damien Williams skipping the season. Its probably important not to overreact to this, though. Chiefs pick up an under-performing veteran every year and I dont think Ive seen one tear it up yet. Suggs, Shady, etc.

Is that a less than 8 carries endorsement? Or a worse/no better than Darrell Williams endorsement?
It’s an odd correlation in that I don’t think he will be used like Darrell.

also that Darrell has 3 touchdowns in those games skewing those numbers quite a bit.

kind of the point. The Chiefs score lots of touchdowns.

What correlation? It's an easy question.
Do you think Bell will get on average at least 8 carries and 3 catches?
If yes... is he better or worse than what Williams could provide?
If no... well, I guess there's nothing to discuss... he would be an empty handcuff.
