Last week I got Kittle for giving up Keenan Allen, Engram, and Joshua Kelley. With Kelley looking terrible, I feel bad that I sold the other team a lemon. I should cancel my Julio and Jackson for CEH offer, and give my trade partner from last week the first chance at Justin Jackson.

Well, if Bell wanted to play for a contender, he certainly made the right choice. As for how much work he gets may be questionable - at least for the next few weeks. I think the big question is just how well he fits into Andy's system since it always seemed to be a hit the hole and go type scheme - just not sure Bell is that type runner, although he is an excellent receiving back. .... guess we shall see, it should be interesting - I've got no dog in that fight other than I did hold Bell in one redraft league. ...

Well allrighty, a TICK of hyperbole,..he was a back end RB1, higher end RB2..but that was without another decent RB on the roster.
In PPR, I believe in non he was like RB25

:). Perhaps with a RB who can convert, they won't feel the need to pass?
Ding ding ding. They can’t rely on CEH in the RZ. Williams gets some touches or they pass. Bell can possibly be that RZ option they are lacking severely

Me thinks they hve quite the weaponry.
How come when your poking the bear you’re speaking a lot in what ifs and hypotheticals , aside from red zone struggles. He also excels at broken tackles last I looked he was too 5 in the league ....

But if I show you real analytics.... that show a consistent string runner, yearly...you go ape shit... :rolleyes2: :suds:
Becuase they're analytics based upon an ultra small sample size, in an unrealistic setting. Hes not the guy that gets the ball 20 times, hes not the guys defenses scheme against, hes not the guy that does anything out of the ordinary. All he has in impure metrics...which is the inherent problem with analytics, it only crunches numbers, not situations, not conditions..I.E..not reality, only raw numbers. In baseball, analytics works, its pitcher vs hitter, this hitter does this X% of the time, this pitcher does that Y% of the time..its somewhat predictable, theres a mathematical formula to gain an edge. Its not like that in football

and as to CEH, again, who cares about broken tackles? Do we score them?? Have all those broken tackles equated to points? For us or the Chiefs?
I'm speaking in hypotheticals, becuase I'm open to the possibility that I'm dead wrong..maybe they don't use him more, maybe they still turn to Hardman end arounds or 'Reek Hill shovel passes, or tackle eligible plays at the goaline, I don't know. The only absolute is, that they now have another option, and simply having more options, is, in and of itself, less opportunity for the guy who is there now.

No he’s not. But he’s getting 6-8-10 carries there’s enough data to prove he’s effective....no one ever said he’s the bell cow. He’s also the closer.....they trust him to end it...

and I’m truly messing with you, that’s why I put those beer mugs up!

I got you boo ;)

But it is my stance on analytics in football. Useful, yes. Something to hang yer hat on? No

No , they lie at times too..... I totally get that. Take the curious case of jimmy g. Great qb rating, fair qbr..... decent yards....

and other analytics put him bottom of the league...I personally think he’s not very good

Like I mentioned in some other thread, I liken him to an Andy Dalton-ish level of QB. There are worse starters out there, but hes nothing special either

From FOOTBALL GUYS:

"Only fantasy teams with Edwards-Helaire should be disappointed at this development, as Bell should at a minimum get goal-line work and half of the carries, but if it's clear that like Ryan Tannehill, Robby Anderson, Kenyan Drake, and Devante Parker, Bell was held back by his head coach and not his lack of ability, then Bell could be the lead back in short order.

I never said he has done anything but as far as a GL back right now...they got nothing. Anything is better than CEH right now in the RZ. We don't know what to expect from Bell but it wasn't helping a guy that declined a bit with that Jets OL. Also, not helping CEH...another guy to hand the ball too. The verdict is out...I'm just not sold that he won't get touches like it seems like you believe.

He may get the touches , he may excel.

I’m just pointing out that the overriding assumptionS are two things:

1) bell is pretty good
2) bell eats fairly well

But bell hasn’t played well in close to four years. All I’m saying is there is a lot of assumptions here.... bell may waltz right in and take rb1 and ball the f out.....but lemme see it.
