Its fucking insane.
I work for a health care company. They do a lot of things wrong but during the early parts of the pandemic they had Zoom/Webex/Teams meetings every few days talking about the virus and ways to help keep us and our families safe. Many of these meetings had doctors talking, specialists in transmissible diseases even, explaining things about the covid - its seriousness etc. At least a couple of talks were about "cures" like ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine and why they were not great options.
A few weeks after these talks I was in the courtyard of a major hospital delivering stuff and someone way way way above me was holding court lecturing a bunch of his IT workers about the only reason doctors and the media are saying these cures dont work is because Trump said they do. So this guy is a lifer at this company, every time he talks he seems like a true believer in the company and its work - yet when Orange Julius says something he believed him over the doctors he worked with.
When I wandered off he was explaining to some minority workers how Trump really isn't racist,
