Chip Brown should be a TV Weather guy in Denver. At a 50/50 coin flip on a daily basis, it would be an upgrade over his 0% touts that he has made over the last several years.

The guy doesn't know shit, and obviously talks to the wrong people all the time.

At least Texas people respect what he says.

He's been right most of the time, but he apparently whiffed on this one. He broke the story with Deloss Dodds, and ended up being right. Caught a lot of grief on that one too.

I do think he pissed off Mack big time, and got played. Time for him to move to another city.

I know, he pissed off a lot of Husker fans over the years. Dont have to get all rude en sech.

But he's usually been right, especially concerning internal UT politics. He stirred up a bee nest announcing D.Dodds would step down/be forced out early, but after several weeks of taking abuse, it turned out he was right.

I think this time he kicked over a hornets nest, and Pres. Powers and Mack are pissed.

If he hadn't been in such a rush to be "FIRST", Mack Browm might have retired with dignity and a huge celebration.


Instead Brown leaks the whole mess and a shitstorm of uncertainty and rumor mongering was unleashed.


Brown did some bush league lazy journalism and deserves to be criticized a bit.


he has a solid career, but it doesn't give him a free pass for fumbling this story badly.

Not sure he had anything even close to being right in conference expansion.

Oh I don't know. He missed on some of it. Mizzou to B1G was a big miss; Texas to Pac12 very nearly happened at one point. Rest of realignment was a clusterfuck. He was right on a lot of other things concerning some of these schools leaving the Big12.

I think that the two sources who gave the info were on the 'side' of pushing Mack out, and they wanted the news out, because Mack was stonewalling.


Who would have known that Powers would get the vote of confidence and Mack would pull out the victory of his life to keep his job.


But I agree, if Mack does indeed stay, Browns career is over.

Likely his internal stuff is good, if not great, but his expansion (and loudness) on a national scene was a complete joke.

I will say, after watching the banquet, Sally Brown did not have the look of victory. She looked, sad, devastated, upset.
Was that because she's sad Mack had to fight for his job? Or because she wanted him to call it quits, and instead he's out to fight to the end? I don't know. But it looked like a funeral there.

The players also had a very dejected look. Was it because they came so close to a conf championship and lost? I don't know.
