I guess we didn't want Teo, But i think we woulda been better off with him than Bostic, But i would have really rather have had Ogletree at this point. I do agree we really shoulda taken the TE from ND, Eiffert it would have given us another tough inside target, Sharrif Floyd would have been a good pick for his value too. Minn got a good NTackle there. Minn did great with 3 picks in round 1. But we have 2 new guards now, still have Garza, Webb Carrimi and Bushrod at LT, Hope he can handle it the NFC North teams all have intense Pass rushers.

I guess this Bostic kid is a good hitter, they say he plays MIKE pretty good, which is what we need, We are way too spoiled with Urlacher who could play any position at LB, really versitle , I don't think you can replace him.

Hopefully for Packers fans i am wrong, but it could be to our advantage that he got so much money, one player could end his career in 1 play and they will be stuck!

Another Round 1 reach by Emery.

McMlellin and Long better pan out, and end up being studs, cuz as of right now, those choices look ridiculous.

^^^^

Also, I predicted 2 linebackers would get picked. Just not the ones we took.

McClellin is somewhat of a head-scratcher pick to me too. But I'm willing to give Emery the benefit of the doubt for at least another year. Why?

Well, because as much as I liked Lovie, he was a poor evaluator of talent in my opinion, and Lovie was loyally stubborn to his schemes. So I'm guessing that McClellin didn't fit into a role in Lovie's scheme. And from what I've read, Emery had it in his mind that 2012 was going to be Lovie's last year as coach - no matter what. So in Emery's mind, it didn't matter if Lovie used McClellin or not.

Let's see what happens this year! Go Bears!

fify;-)

Lovie was ok on the defensive side of the ball, but I agree, him and Angelo had waaay too many busts...particularly in the 1st round of the draft.

That said, Emery and the new Bears regime, have put together consecutive years, where their first round picks were universally questioned. Head-scratchers, as you accurately put it.

Definitely "reaches", to put it mildly.

beardown, I'm not limiting Lovie to the offense. Some of the Angelo/Lovie defensive picks have been in question also. (4th round or better...)

2011 - Paea, Conte
2010 - Wright, Wooten
2009 - Gilbert
2008 - Steltz
2007 - Bazuin, Okwo

Quite a few 2nd, 3rd and 4th round clunkers on defense too. And let's not forget Lovie's disaster trading to get Adam Archuleta back in his system. And the fact that Lovie benched Hester from returning kicks one season. Not exactly fine decision making benching the best return man in NFL history.

I'm just glad that someone is focusing more on the offense.

I see the national media instantly downgraded the Bears draft because they passed on a couple domers.

SHOCKING!

I love Long and Bostic. Both will be starting within 2 years IMO.

But our's 1st pick is a project and could of grabbed Kyle Long with our 50th pick.

1st Shea McCullen last year and now a project that most likely won't start until 2014, So more of J'Marcus Webb scrub type of blocking.

Jay Cutler should be smart and take a quick look at his bland side every pass play.

Exactly. If you're going to take Long, trade down, pick up a few picks, and take him in the 2nd/3rd. Oh well, can't do anything about it now.

And we our going see why the KC Chiefs sucked when Emery was there.

SportsChic, nice to see a familiar avitar from CBS...

I'm not ready to write off Emery just yet. Even after the McClellin pick. Maybe I mentioned this earlier, but if McClellin was an Emery pick (as opposed to a Lovie pick), it didn't surprise me that Lovie didn't know how to use him. (Remember, Lovie benched Hester from returning kicks.) Lovie's schemes and his loyalties to certain players didn't always work to the Bears' advantage. I'm trying not to harp on Lovie too much. Just trying to make a point.

The Blackhawks Stan Bowman came under scrutiny for trading Cam Barker for unknown Nick Leddy. Time has shown that Stan got the better of that deal.

And maybe Emery didn't do well in KC. But Bill Belichick didn't do well in Cleveland either. Let's see if time is just as good to Emery.
