I have a hunch Gallo remains a Ranger for the simple reason he and Boras think he is worth more than anyone wants to pay. His stats are hard to justify as a hitter.

Him and Boras have nothing to do with rather or not Joey gets traded unless it is because of an extension. We can trade him no matter what they think he is worth.

Jeff Wilson had this to say about the organization's pitching outlook;

Start at the big-league level with right-hander Dane Dunning and left-handers Taylor Hearn, John King and Kolby Allard. There has been enough there — given what they went through with injuries and last year’s pandemic shutdown — to feel like there has been progress.

Take Allard. He is 2-8 with a 4.71 ERA, hardly reason to feel good about his season. But …

Best news overall? Cooler heads prevailed when the Rangers took Vanderbilt right-hander Jack Leiter with the second overall pick in the draft. If a kid is rated that high and his dad is Al Leiter, draft him.

unfortunately you are probably right. Boras and Gallo are going to play these "extension" talks out until the last moment and absolutely nothing will come of them and like i said we'll unload a couple of unimportant pieces for the proverbial PTBNL's who bring nothing back to us. and we'll play out this same scenario out next year

i don't think the extension gets done before or after the deadline.

I see that the two prospects were ranked by Fangraphs as the Yankees number 21 and number 31 prospects.
