That's quite a statement. We shall see.

Dabo's got 20 years invested in the University of Alabama to include being a player there. Alabama is a blue-blood with piles of cash to throw around. He was born and raised in Alabama.
.
I don't see him leaving. He makes maga dough, he's turned Clemson's football facilities into a mini Disney World, he's killing it in recruiting and he has a lot less psycho fans to deal with. Unlike Bama, when Clemson loses the fans don't shoot people.

You see, he would have the same at his alma matter plus a fan base that really cares. :dhd:

Dabo isn't leaving Clemson. He has it made there.

Dabo Swinney

Born: ALABAMA Nov 1969.
Playing Career: ALABAMA 1990 - 1992.
Coaching Career: ALABAMA 1993 - 2000.

Naw, he'd never leave Clemson for Alabama.

It could happen but I don't see it happening. Bama is a pressure cooker like no other. Dabo has created his own little kingdom at Clemson and its working great for him. As long as FSU stays down I don't see anyone in the ACC threatening Clemson's cakewalk to the conference championship.

How would you know? They haven't lost in 29 games, dude.

Dabo is (68 - 4) since his first trip to the CFP in 2015.

Alabama's gonna come after him hard. They have every resource Clemson does.

Why deal with all that pressure that comes with the Bama HC job when you can have the same success and not have to deal with half the bs? I don't recall Clemson fans shooting people when they were losing to South Carolina a few years back.

Dabo is beating the SEC at their own game .. recruiting. When you can pull that off you know shit got real.

When Saban retires … I doubt it will be in the next four of five years unless health or family issues arises … Dabo will be in a no lose situation. His coaching/recruiting style would not be a big departure from Saban's so it would be a seamless transition. He could maintain his own program or Bama's with equal ease. If he goes to Bama and his replacement takes a half step backward, it would only enhance his accomplishments.

As an Auburn fan you know better than most what the pressure is like in Tuscaloosa. I've worked with Bama fans up on the slope (oil patch) .. a shitload of pipe insulators come out of that state due to the school in Pensacola. Those guys were beyond fanatic. I did a stretch in the state pen and I felt safer in there than working around those guys when Bama lost.

First, I am not saying that Dabo would definitely go to Bama but it damned sure is not a cut and dried issue. You acknowledge the passion … which admittedly borders on psychotic … do you really think that Dabo is immune to that passion after a decade as a player and coach there plus a childhood of being a fan during the Bear era?

What you don't understand is Dabo drank the same water as those fans for 31 fucking years.

Nobody else can keep up. Is this bad for the long term health of the game? Ohio State is the only team outside of the south that can compete right now.
No, not the SEC, Alabama, Clemson and Ohio State.

The SEC is good but Alabama is the team to beat year after year in that conference. LSU has had a fabulous year but next year... you guessed it, Bama is the team to beat again, the recruiting rankings.... Bama, Clemson and Ohio State once again and yes IMHO long term its bad for the game but its not Bama, Clemson and Ohio States fault.

Agree, to say never is stupid. There is a reason there are a few extra million dollars on his buyout if he goes to Bama.

I see it as 'Where would Dabo rather retire his football career and be inducted into the HoF?"

Money is not an issue in cases such as these. Neither for Dabo or Alabama.
