Anyone think adding Flowers to the Redskins would be a good fit?

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Cornerback Brandon Flowers, a six-year starter, was released by the Kansas City Chiefs on Friday. Flowers played in his first Pro Bowl last season.
Flowers had been absent from the Chiefs' offseason practices this year, indicating he was unhappy playing in Kansas City. The Chiefs shifted him to nickelback last season in obvious passing situations.

Could be, but he would be expensive and he would also push one of our younger guys off the roster based on his price tag alone.

True, but he is much better than Biggers or Porter. I'd give him a call.

True, but he wouldn't push Biggers or Porter off the roster. He would push Minnifield or possibly Breeland off

You think? Minnifield, maybe. No way breeland. Im not sure Minnifield makes the team anyway. I actually think Porter would be the odd man out. He's really not very good and is probably overpaid.

Skill wise Minnifield is better than Breeland, Porter, Biggers and maybe even Amerson. If not for the knee issue, we never would have gotten a shot at signing him. Dont be shocked if HE pushes Porter off the roster at the end of the day.

I always thought so too. I was surprised he didn't get any playing time last year. I'm curious why that was the case.

Coming back of multiple knee surgeries, Plus you dont really justify playing him over Josh Wilson who was making upwards of $4 million last year. If Chase is truely healthy, I think he is our #3 CB this year and possibly a starter in 2015. He has the skill for it, health is his big draw back.

I didn't expect him to start, but he was supposedly fully recovered. Once Crawford got hurt, I thought he would at least be active and play STs. He looked good in preseason. He was inactive for every game so they didn't feel they could even be tempted to put him in. There is some back story there that we haven't heard. When you are 3-10, you need to play guys like Chase to see what you have (same goes for Gettis, Compton, Ribeye and Jenkins).

The fact that we didnt play these guys tells me alot. I think Mike knew by mid season he was gone. Why play the young guys and prep them for the incoming coach?? I think this was clearly a dick move by Shanahan and was deliberate on his part. He knew he was done, and made moves to ensure that once he decided he wanted to leave with his golden parachute.

No doubt Shanahan was playing games the second half of the season. I think he wanted out at that point, but wanted to get fired so he still got paid. So I wouldn't be surprised if he did purposely keep these guys off the field.

Got to agree. Why do all the work for the next guy. To a degree it was a dick move. But I also dont blame him. Think he was put in a no win situation from the start of the season.

You guys really think the coach was holding Minnifield back? There is more Black Ops going on at Redskin Park than there is in the CIA.

I dont think it was holding back so much as the coach made a decision NOT to play his youth even once the season had spun out of control. In most normal cases once a season has become lost ( No chance to make the playoffs) most smart coaches use the games left to get experience for their young guys. Shanny stuck with guys who most of us expected to be gone based on performance from last year. And his lack of giving ANY real playing time to our youth left Gruden in a position where he couldnt make a choice of simply cutting guys like Chester, because we really have no idea what our young lineman behind him bring to the table on Sundays.

Obviously Flowers would make our team better. Likely play the slot coverage over Porter. This would allow us to have Porter as a 4th and Breeland as a 5th. Likely push guys like Biggers, Minnifield off the roster. I really like Minnifield but he has had no real opportunity to prove himself due to injury which is not anyone's fault.
