All will come down to $$$

IM not against us signing him mind you. Just think at some point we are going to have to bite the bullet and ACTUALLY see what guys like Chase, Gettis, Ribeye and Compton have to bring to the table.

Dad... you and I both know its nothing CSI about it. Its simple logic. If Shanahan thought he was going to be here this year, he plays the young guys once we are out of playoffs contention. But if you know you are going to get fired no matter what, do you honestly bother to do the quarterly reports and get everything in order for the guy who will replace you?? I know some people might, but human nature would have most of us leaving things in as much of a shambles as possible with out overtly saying screw you to the boss and giving him grounds to withhold our severance pay. In effect thats what Shanahan did.

Sorry guys, I can't agree here. Shanahan was doing what most coaches would do and that is play his best players. He would lose player respect if he did anything else.

In particular Chase had a number of things go against him, he had the microfracture and he didn't play STs. He has no chance of making the team this year unless he becomes a starter or a ST standout. If you are the number 4 or higher corner and don't play STs you probably aren't long for the league.

I have been around teams enough to know on occasion a player gets in a coaches dog house and can't get out no matter what he does. I also believe there were a couple of players in that position under Shanahan, I don't think Chase is one of them though.

Sportster.. .the problem is, if it were simply one or two players I could see it. But when you are talking about numerous players, I really cant think any coach in his right mind would simply NOT play the young guys when there is nothing to gain by playing the vets who were under performing. A true COACH would have put in Gettis, Compton, Ribeye, Minnifield and Jenkins once we got to the point of 8-3. Unless he had another reason to try and win games that had no meaning and we lost anyway, the team as a whole would have ben better served to see these guys get some live play time. And any coach worth his salt would have wanted to see these guys in live action unless he figured having them play would have no benifit to him in any case.

Once Shanny said we are playing Cousins instead of RG3 then that's when he also should have started playing all the rookies. He threw in the towel with the QB so why not give the young guys some playing time to see if they could contribute the next season (this year)?

For obvious reasons I would like Flowers a lot if we can afford him. He has been a Pro-Bowler, is still relatively young, and is a Hokie :)

Minnifield on the other hand has stunk. He has had injury problems and hasn't been able to break the depth chart despite having a below average secondary. I don't think that changes. Not sure why you are so high on him Shark?? What has he done?? Plus he is a Wahoo... That even worsens my view of him. :)

Sparks... had he not injured the knee 3 months before the draft, he was a consensus 2nd rounder. Odds are we never would have gotten him. As far as not moving up the depth chart, you cant really hold that against him last year considering that NO ONE moves up the depth chart last year no matter how badly we did. Talent wise he is better than Bigers, and I honestly think if given a shot to play he is better than Breeland as well.

PS.. fuck da Hokies. :D

As soon as the State of Colorado approved the use of recreational marijuana, Mike Shanahan really didn't care about coaching the REDSKINZ...cant say I blame him, but personally I still think he's is a piece of shit for how he handled the RG3 situation.

Oh, if you are wondering...that's Shanahan's "ganja crib" in Colorado.

We'll see, if Minnifield starts this year then you have a point. If he gets cut, I think that speaks for itself.

I like Chase too and thought maybe he would make the team after the summer he had last year but word was he was not considered top 4 or 5 and didn't play STs. If I remember right a lot of us thought he would make the 53 man squat and were surprised when he didn't.

While that may be somewhat true, a lot of players fall because of injury concerns. The really nice 1st and 2nd round prospects don't typically go undrafted because of injuries...leading me to think he wasn't a 2nd to begin with.

Dude has had a couple seasons to get off the ps. Time is running out for him.
