You are talking about were & the subject is the future. Yes we WERE in worse shape than we ARE now. Which is what I said. the cap is getting better for us. Romo as of now this money is gonna count towards 27 mil of the cap. We all know that is gonna get restructured.
Also when big contracts get signed, their 1st year is almost always min. wage plus whatever the signing bonus is gonna be divided by 5. So while Dez will get a huge contract, next year will be his cheaper year cap wise. Trust me Twist. the sky is not falling. We have been in way worse position in the cap & still kept our players. (even if we shouldn't have)

2015 we don't have to have what the avg. of these mega contracts are. I forgot what you think Dez will avg. per year. but if you are correct, whatever that is going to be for next years cap it will count less than that.

Maybe this was intended for me , maybe not and no Im not trying to think highly of myself which I have been told for thinking someone is talking about me. I tend to to take the high road and try to remain as nice and sensitive as possible. Sure , over the yrs I have been into it with most everyone. In one of these threads I set a huge trap and believe me when I say I caught my bear. I chose not to go through with it . I have been called mother fucker, not respected , idiot, etc. I have given the benefit of the doubt and only picked my battles that I knew I would win. Still, we all have our opinions whether they are respected or not. Some know more about the cap, some know more about Xs and Os, and some know more about the team in general. I eat, sleep, think , whatever the Dallas Cowboys and nobody can prove me wrong on that. We all had our specific guys we wanted in the draft, We all have our favorite former players. Im not calling peace on this because you guys are both strong minded. Again Im not taking sides- Im just a nice guy but if you push the wrong buttons......which has happened , I tend to go get out of hand. No they aren't. It only shows that to people who want to ignore what else is going on. Lets take the Giants and Eli. Extend him out a couple of years so you can distribute any restructure of his salary over 5 years and then restructure his 2014 salary on paper to drop it to $1M like we did with Romo and it creates $11M in cap space for them this year. Now compare the two teams. You can keep talking about the CURRENT cap space, but unless you acknowledge how we got there (pushing $'s into outer years) it's completely misleading. Here's a nice comparison for the two tems. If they cut Eli this year he has $7M in dead money. If we cut Romo we have $49M. But yes, as of today we have more cap space than them. Good job by us...

You let him "manage the cap"...I see him just as short sighted and almost as inept at that as with everything else.
