and actually .... If that is the way you think or others ( im not focusing on you) Then you have no rights to ever blame Jerry Jones for the situation the Cowboys are in.

That's how he thinks ... it's a failed way of thinking .... So anyone agreeing with it ..... Thinks like him ... and loses all rights to blaming him

and yes that includes you Pday.... always for THIS year and never for the future

WOW.....You think what you want and I'll do the same. There is no way in hell you can tell me what rights I have when talking Dallas Cowboy football on a football message board.

Oh I certainly can ...... Now whether you pay attention to it or not is all on you.

90% of any of your debates revolve around "Jerry til we die" and all his faults. The other 10% are you thinking the exact way he does. " It's this year not future years"

Make your mind up

There's the Jerry way of this year or bust ...... Or there is the way of finally fixing this team.

There isnt both

Well me 2 cent opinion is Jerry has pushed this version of the Cowboys back to the season before Campo took over and he had no choice but to bite the bullet and shed cap dollars with a shitty product and a well meaning likable coach who sadly was in over his head and had no say in anything but collecting his paycheck.

I don't like all the restructuring and putting off paying the credit card bill. That only "fits" if you won a SB and are trying to make another run and know you will have to pay the bill later and regroup.

Since Parcells left over TO & Bums boy rode what was left of Bills team to a division win this team has been unable to get over the hill with all the supporting cast onboard. I like Jason and think he might be a very good HC someday but its not going to happen here IMO. Callahan is gone after this year period keeping him when he wanted to leave was a silly little power play by Jerry and will come back to bite him in the ass someday. I honestly think we will be looking for a new coaching staff after this year. I have little faith Jerry will get it right but hope is all you got left.

Jerry is doing it wrong as the GM plain and simple. I wont stop rooting for my Cowboys but I feel more like a Cubs fan with every passing season. :(

I wont ever not be a fan but it is just so sad watching what was 1 of the best Teams in Sports doing the death spiral due to the maniacal egotistical whims of Jerry Jones the GM.

I am sick of losing Jerry

Oh I certainly can ...... Now whether you pay attention to it or not is all on you.

sure....you've proven over time you can run your mouth with the best of um. Some here actually give you a pass....which must explain this higher authority attitude you express

90% of any of your debates revolve around "Jerry til we die" and all his faults. The other 10% are you thinking the exact way he does. " It's this year not future years"

No....I've said what the actual problem is and how he handles the cap is far down on the pecking order. Stop being an idiot and thinking you're backing me in a corner. I remain far from the only one that thinks you're taking this way over the top. How many players has jerry lost due to lack of money? The problem is more HOW jerry handles coaches, scouts and is fucking ego thinking he's a football evaluator. MY GOD, where have you been? You shoulda been screaming the day Romo signed his contract. Now after we lose Hatcher and Ware from the 3rd worst defense in the history of football the sky is falling and we have no hope in the future because of money? SIT YOUR ASS DOWN AND STOP BEING AN IDIOT. You haven't a clue what next year much less the year after has in store with regards to money. You don't know who go's and who stays.

The problem is right out there on display every Sunday. The problem is jerry and the people that he hires to evaluate players, develop players and the team strategies way more than next years cap and your fears that we can't field a team. Romo will be restructure again as will others. This team is not rebuilding and I don't apologize for thinking they can play for the division this year. Playoffs and playoff advancement is still the name of the game and nothing has changed or put that out of reach cause we let Ware and Hatcher go.

Make your mind up

There's the Jerry way of this year or bust ...... Or there is the way of finally fixing this team.

There isnt both

your thinking here is all messed up.

but humor me.....how do we finally fix this team?

higher authority attitude? That's you bruh has been for a decade..... and somewhere around 5 years ago you even stopped debating football. You just chime in to throw you opinion and slam others. I was actually hoping with the trolls gone .... you might actually go back to debating rather than grand standing.

Sit my ass down? Why? What have you brought to a football debate not just here but in YEARS?
You should already know your bully tactics wont work on me.

without getting into a bitching match with you ... which is what you want ... it's all you are good at anymore. Let's go economics 101 ...... Eventually you got to pay your bills. Sure you can put them off ... AKA pay your matercard with your visa ( restructuring) but when you hit the limit it's time to pay up.

What I find hard to believe is you think there is an extra charge card left in Jerry's pocket

How to you fix it? Simple ... Dont make ignorant trade ups.... Pay your players unless you are on the VERGE or winning something. But don't fuck the future for a .500 team

Funny....you telling me what I'm not and all... and I think I'm kicking your ass in this little debate as you like to call um. I'll stick to my opinion of evaluations, developments, ego issues and in game strategies. I just have the last 5/6 years to support my claim, while you still seem pissed about the 2nd round move up in the draft. Shame....it's fogging your judgment. No matter how hard to wish it so, you haven't a clue (basically cause it hasn't happened yet and your crystal ball doom forecast means nothing to me) but it sure seems important to you to think you're right

Jerry wants to win. That is why we are in cap hell.

To say we have no chance period if we made it in the playoffs is just stupid, especially when generally compete with and can beat(and lose to) any team we play.

To get to the superbowl you have to make it into the playoffs. We've been close to step one.

Not true. If not for the cap problems that forced us to restructure Ware I think his salary was around $9M this year. We wouldn't have cut him at that dollar amount. Because of the cap problems and restructures I think Wares cap hit was around $17M. So you can see it as playing both sides of the fence, but I don't. Keeping Ware at one more year for $9M would be a good idea for me, doing so at a $17M cap hit was just not possible or worthwhile. That isn't playing both sides, that is recognizing the two different scenarios.

Hatcher was a FA so it's a totally different scenario. I guess If we were in a great cap situation we could have tagged him. I'll leave it up to each person as to whether or not that would have been smart, but it certainly would have made us a much better team. But signing him long term would have perpetuated the problems in the past that screwed our cap in the first place.

If Ware would have had 13 sacks last yr- do we still cut him or do we restructure or do we pay him 17 mill. Hatcher , to me, is a no brainer- he had 1 good yr and no I dont think he played for a contract- I just really think he had a good yr. I dont think you tag him and pay 9 million

Don't take this wrong but this is a perfect example imo on why cap managment has been over emphasized in this forum. In your own words the Eagles are a team who tend to manage the cap well and with a 50 million dollar surplus probably above avg. Yet over the coarse of 10 years the Eagles and Cowboys have relatively both lived in mediocrity. The Eagles and the Redskins have both over the past 5 or 6 years landed some big Names in F/A but when was the last time either team even made it past the divisional round in the playoffs?

I'm not taking it negatively brother. I dont agree with you on the Eagles being mediocre over the last 10 years. THey've been fairly good the majority of those years. Eagles fans are always bitching and moaning about us winning the salary cap bowl every year. IMHO I think Philly and NE manage the cap better then anyone. Thats not going to win you a SB but it does help you keep your team intact. Eagles rarely, if ever, restructure deals to clear cap space. We are always able to add good players to fit holes. I think they tried the homerun type of players with NO success. Over the last 10 years the Eagles have been to the SB, the final 4 in 2009 with 2 playoff wins, division title and playoff win in 2006, 2009 11-5, 2010 Division title, 2013 first place. THe Eagles were NEVER the best team in the NFL over the last 10 years, but I think consistently having cap space to fill holes and keep young players is important. THere weakness has been drafting. THey've had some horrific drafts over the last decade. Obviously drafting is much more important then cap space.

never said we had no chance .... said it would take luck and injuries

and yeah Jerry wanting to win now ..... exactly right ... we have no disagreement there

actually believe it or not you are agreeing with what I said before this draft ( as well as UK) when it was brought up trading up for Watkins .... offence is powerful .... To win we will have to outscore everyone ... ala early Elway in Denver years or more recent the Rams .... denver couldnt do it without a defense and the greatest show on turf remains the only team to pull it off

Is what it is ....... and no we dont have that offense

So what would it take for you to consider us in cap hell? How could we possibly be in a worse situation with the cap?

I'm just curious.

Cause here is what I see.
We have huge money invested in Carr. Who wasn't even good last year. Making top 5 cb money
a high 1st invested in Mo who wasn't close to good last year.

We have Carter at linebacker..... Good or bad this year. He is a free agent end of the season.
Lee is out (but not going to factor an injury into this)
All of our LBers other than Lee and Dunbar are on rookie contracts.
Minus Spencer and Melton our D-line is either on rookie deals or cheap deals. With Hayden and Selvie both free agents at the end of the season

Now here is a good thing. Other than Free our entire O-line makes shit. Smith is on a rookie contract as well as Leary and Frederick, while MB makes back up guard money.

But the thing is. After this year Leary is a free agent as well. BTW he is on a rookie min contract.
Smith will have to be resigned either this year or next. The sooner the cheaper but we have him for next year reguardless.
EVERY receiver we have is on a rookie contract. With Dez, Harris, and Beasley all free agents after the season.
Goto TE .... Witten is making right much. But like with Ware, ALOT of his money is restructure money.
Then goto the backfield. Both Murray andDunbar are on rookie contracts and both Free Agents at the end of the year.

Anf OFC Romo who we restructure every year.

We have awhole lot of starters playing on rookie contracts. and yet as stands going into 2015 we are well over the cap. With alot of players to resign.

So will we be tearing down the team........ No but it will look awhole lot different with most of those guys gone.

Cap hell is like when Aikman & Irvin left. We had a shit ton of dead money & way over the cap where we weren't signing anyone & still having to restructure just to get under the cap.

We are not in that situation. If we restructure now it is to sign players which happens every year with almost every team.
As far as the cap next year. it shows at 134+ mil as of now before we restructure Romo (which has been planned all along) & what I was hearing was the cap will be over 140 mil next year. So I don't view us as over the cap right now as you claim for next year.

If you like to bitch about we suck at the cap & teams are so much better than us so be it. Hell I will agree with you & give you a rah-rah you go guy!
but
we are not in cap hell. We have been in cap hell before & this isn't that!

any player is just one play away from it being over, and the team exposure for such a thing is all part of the salary cap era. It's a money shell game and Dallas doesn't beat this drum alone. Not everyone can be the patriots. I still don't see lack of money as the issue in Dallas.

Dez and Smith are signed for 2014. There is no need to spend any of that 8M in this season's cap, and there sure isn't any reason to play this year with 2016, 2017 cap numbers in mind. The Dallas Cowboys made their statement with the last signing of Romo. They are all in towards fielding the best team possible and competing for playoff berths. I continue to not have issues with future extensions. Those things will work themselves out. This business isn't the business to be in IF you assume career ending injury. That factors in with every player....it's all part of it.

which is why I said..."I remain much more concerned about talent evaluations, player development and game strategies". Real good teams have several players out performing contacts. That's the name of the game and why I continue to bring evaluations and development into the equation much more so than cap hell because of signing your proven NFL QB

well I cant argue with that. just going off what spotac is showing.
but again if the rumor is true that isn't over the cap right now either then.

Wasn't to long ago we were going into a season 30 mil over the cap.
The cap keeps getting better for us not worse.

You want to bitch about how bad our defense is going to be. Cool I will bitch with you.
You want to cry in your beer because Lee got hurt. Cool I will cry in my beer with you. (that is the sky is falling subject)
you want to claim the sky is falling cap wise..... Well I simply disagree. We are not 30 mil in the hole & the cap has been trending towards the better & our contracts of late has been smart ones. Our cap may not be the most ideal right now, but this simply isn't cap hell.
