- has to talk to trainers and doctors first before saying he needs surgery for his shoulder

- if he needs surgery he wants to get it done ASAP

Maybe it's just me, but if the situation had been reversed, beating the Nucks in a regular season game after losing the cup to them the year before wouldn't mean anymore than we just beat the cup champs. For me, the only revenge is beating them the next year in the playoffs/finals, like sweeping the Flyers last year. I just thought the hype for a game in January was overboard.

the sentiment during the entire season for the canucks was "its all about the playoffs" ... it came from media, fans, players, coaches and management

hell it started in pre-season when Vigneault didnt play his regulars until the final 2 or 3 exhibition games because he thought they needed the rest and by conserving energy early in the year they could be fresher later in the year because afterall, "its all about the playoffs"

after the Boston game, they pretty much coasted, played indifferently with a who cares attitude because "its all about the playoffs"

so if Bieksa was working through an abdominal injury for the last few weeks of the season... and we've had the division locked up since christmas... why the fuck wasn't he shut down for a while?

same thing with Kesler and his February shoulder injury. That rehab would have given his hip some more recovery time, too.
