Panthers Quarterback Cam Newton had some harsh criticism today for Seahawks Cornerback and fellow attention whore Richard Sherman, after Sherman's angry tirade at a Seattle area sports journalist caught the internet's attention yesterday.

"He be all conduct unbecoming a professional ball player," stated Newton, the former NFL MVP who stormed out of his own post-game Superbowl press conference not even 12 months ago. "I don't really know what it means, but I know in high school if you messed up in front of a teacher, they wrote you a demerit slip for 'conduct unbecoming,' so it must be pretty bad. I hope the league don't give him too many demerits, because I think after 15, you got suspended from school for 3 days."

Panthers QB Newton claims Sherman's attention-seeking antics "dishonor the league"

When pressed for further comment, Newton would only reply that "stuff like that, that only draw negative attention to yourself, that dishonors the league, or something. I hope Sherman find God and get hisself right."

When informed that the National Football League does not issue demerits, Newton demurred. "Well, I know Tom Brady got suspended for four games, so how did that happen if he didn't get at least 15 demerit slips?"

Pot calling the kettle black? Yes, this probably isn't something Newton should be making a deal out of. However, I think Sherman should cool it with the attitude. Seattle is 10-4-1, the Defense while still great has declined a little, and they just got their asses kicked by Green Bay followed by an easy win over the 4-10 Rams. Time to show some humility.

If I was Sherman I'd be trying to make nice with everyone with the league at this point in his career. He is only going to decline as he isn't getting any stronger or faster. While I love the Legion of Boom, I often feel they get a lot more credit than they deserve. The Seattle D-Line is the most important aspect of the defense, and when they struggle to get pressure the LOB gets lit up.
