He is a 27 yo righty mid reliever. Ho hum deal. Clears the 40 spot for Szapucki.

Matt Boyd going to Mariners with Casali
This doesn't seem like much for a good competent back up catcher. :noidea:

Who hasnt played in a month and is a FA at the end of the season.

But in general, I agree. Casali should be back soon and Boyd appears to be ready to start in the MLB soon.

My only guess is Stryffler is a good prospect? At 27? Who still hasn’t gotten a cuppo?

Now I'm really confused. Is Casali or Boyd been traded? Both?

And who has odds that Stryffler gets added to the 40 man roster?

We still have 45 mins, but so far I am insanely unimpressed. But I will do a full analysis of all deals tonight. Hopefully I will be able to look at everything with some kind of clarity.

Rosenthal sent to the Crew. No word on the return.

I can honestly say that I never heard of any of the players we have acquired before this week (I was aware there was a player named JD Davis before, but I hd no idea what team he was on or what position he played).

It is looking like the Boyd deal to Seattle may be a separate deal from the Casali/Stryffler trade

I met his dad a few years ago at the Arizona Fall League. Kid grew up in the Sacramento area, and his dad and I were on the same flight. The dad and JD's uncle were going to surprise him with a visit. He was very surprised, and unfortunately went 0 for all the time his dad and uncle were there with multiple errors, some of the bonehead variety. JD's dad was glum as we got on the plane to return to California. When we got off the plane, he checked his phone and got this huge grin. I asked him what was up, and he said JD hit two doubles and a homer that day. Figures.

I believe JD was originally in the Astro system. Evidently has a lot of power.
key words for him are "exit velocity"

Lots of chairs were rearranged, but the hull was untouched.
