Sure he has 2 SB rings and a SB MVP truck. That play the Pats had him working on all week, he kept getting beat in practice. Half the credit goes to Browner on the jam to Kearse, setting the play up, crazy that an Ex-Seahawk was instrumental too. Butler owes NE nothing and if he can get paid substantially more, more power to him and best luck

True, he lacks height and seems to play harder and always to the limit to compensate for that. Never seen him rest on the field. He always plays to win, and gave 110% effort to the Pats, and that is invaluable. BB has a record for doing that with players - bringing out the best of them, which is what makes him a great HC.

If Logan Ryan & Dre Kirkpatrick can make north of $10mil per, then Butler deserves more than both of those guys.

I agree but he won't get it from NE after they signed Gilmore. So he either takes less to stay or gets paid elsewhere. The money is not always greener on the other side is all. Paying Ryan that $ was dumb IMHO.

Don't forget his 3 other huge plays.

Knocking it away from Kearse in QIII, tripping up Kearse earlier in the 4th (and no PI called) and then the play just before the 3 shots st the TD where he had the smarts to get up and push Kearse out of bounds while everybody stood around shocked the ball was a catch...

True Hank but he also gave up that 33 yarder to Kearse, not from lack of trying but because of his size. Also there were 2 other Pats going after Kearse when he got up

The amazing miracle catch? Is that the 33 yarder you refer to? No way Butler could have done anything differently on that play. It was simply one of those catches.

I saw Harmon fly over the top of Kearse but it was Only Bulter who had a chance to keep him out of the endzone. McCourty was a little late getting there.

Let's not get into the plays he made or didn't make. He's played very well doing what he's been asked. Playing alongside Gilmore would be great and he could do what's he's done and not have to do anything more.

I don't know if it's him or his agent that's pushing him so hard to "NOT" negotiate with the Patriots. From all appearances, the Patriots are willing to sit and talk but it's him or his agent who are not. All this crap that he wants what Gilmore got is nuts. He's not going to get it from the Saints, Bengals or Patriots. My guess is that the max he'll get is $11M for 4 years with $24M guaranteed. That's if he's really lucky. I don't think the Pats will go that high, but he'll never know unless he at least talks to them.

Is that the one that bounced around in the air and fell on his tummy? Lucky as hell that catch.

That's the one. Lucky, but a catch (like wit Dez...). But only Butler really noticed he was still alive and stopped the play saving a TD.

That was a catch, and make no mistake! And yes, Butler recuperated swiftly to make the tackle.

Do you think he's worth that?

I love what he brings to the team. He has impressed me since his 1st preseason game.
He is not worth $10 million to the Patriots.
Logan Ryan was usually playing the #1 receiver and he got a deserved big payday but he was not worth
$10 million to the Patriots either.
If Malcom falls back this year, he'd never get close to that money. He should take the big contract where it is offered and be a millionaire for life. He'll forever be a Patriot, a winner, and a favorite.
Get the money Scrap!

If Malcolm is the Pat's biggest problem they don't have a problem.
I'm just so happy they signed Hightower.
Let him take his time, it's BB's holding the cards now and in Bill I trust

Bengals have passed on him. Deemed "not a good fit" for our defense. Just don't think he would fare well in our scheme.

How many players think that losing is a good fit or a good scheme? I heard they offered him $5 mill a year more to play in Cincy, thank goodness the man has some humilty and pride
