Bengals are thinking about giving the kid a look and he has stated in the past he would love to play for Marvin Lewis. MB and Marvin Lewis are trying to determine whether or not he would be a good fit for us. We have freed up some space lately and have gotten rid of a few players.

Malcolm said he wanted to to work for Jerry Lewis answering phones at the next telethon, not Marvin. This is what 1 smart Bengals/Pats running back said.

Cory spoke his mind and didn't mind the running up-hill to end practice if that what it takes to win.
I'd like them to keep Butler and give him a big raise but the news stories go back and fourth every day.
Don't know what to think.

I like Butler too and hope he stays but as we both know it's a business. I heard in WEEI or somewhere that Harris and Talib were the #1 and #2 CB's, Butler was no#6 and Gilmore was only #36th?. I don't know why they paid him so much money, and I didn't watch enough Bills game to make a fair assessment, but Bill and co must have seen something, or know something.

Gilmore had a bit of a down year this past year. My guess is Belichick is banking on Gilmore getting back to his form before and being a possibly top-10 CB in the league.

I hope so CD, because Butler already was, and hoped their priority was resigning him first. I don't know what Gilmore's character is, but know Butler is a walk the walk type, w/o the talk. Hopefully none od Ryan's bravado rubbed off on him

BB has his price whatever that is? Butler has known that. Let's not forget Butler was undrafted for a reason. He's a quality cover CB. 5'-9" so slightly undersized to cover tall WRs. Gilmore is a shut down corner at 6' or 6'-1". NE made Butler what he was/is. If he decides to walk I wish him all the best. Thank him for what he's done especially against the SeaHawks. It's made living with the 12s tolerable. But like many other players who have left a BB system, I'm willing to bet he doesn't play to his same level.
Malcolm sign the NE deal, continue to win because that's all you've been exposed to, become a NE legend. Don't forget TB12 has routinely taken less to stay with NE.

Butler would be a good signing for some team provided his asking prices isn't too high.

Do you think he's worth that?
No, while MB is a very good corner he's not a shut down corner, he's now the #2 corner on NE. Take the money NE is offering and continue to be a winner. Include the P/O and SB paricipation $ to your annual income if you stay. Especially if you're thinking of going to the NYJ.

If he can make that kind of money with another team he should take it. This would be a good business decision by him.

It seems like the Patriots are sending him a message.

The contributions of Malcolm Butler have been outstanding and would really like to see him stay in NE. He has the winner, team-before-all-attitude that is a staple of BB's mentality. However, he deserves to have a team show him the money and if that happens and he decides to go, well best of luck to him. As fans we will cherish his contributions forever. If anything, BB's legacy continues to grow as a HC that rewards excellence in the context of doing your job, and doing it well.

You don't find too many Brady's, Troy Brown's, Bruschi's etc

Sure he has 2 SB rings and a SB MVP truck. That play the Pats had him working on all week, he kept getting beat in practice. Half the credit goes to Browner on the jam to Kearse, setting the play up, crazy that an Ex-Seahawk was instrumental too. Butler owes NE nothing and if he can get paid substantially more, more power to him and best luck
