I'm biased for sure, but are you factoring in what an impact Machado makes defensively?

No, I'm not. As I said, I have serious concerns regarding his durability. All the talent in the world doesn't mean shit if it's on the DL.

Now, don't get me wrong, if he were on the Indians, I'd be using one hand to pray for his health and the other hand to jerk off to his numbers, but if I got a choice between the three, I'd avoid him because of his knees.

Very true.

Honestly, even if I were to ignore Machado's injury history, looking at the numbers, I think it's pretty homerific to put Machado in there with the other two.

Career slash lines plus OPS+:

MT - .304/.397/.559/.956/169
BH - .287/.387/.523/.910/145
MM - .285/.334/.472/.807/119

I was approaching it more towards all-around player.

Oh, hell yes it will. He's a free agent after 2018. He'll be months into his 26th year during free agency. If he keeps playing to a level anywhere near the past year and a half, he'll get a contract well north of $400MM.

By 2018 there will be such a rush to sign him I expect the final contract to be.....................

10 years

I'm not a big fan of WAR for a few reasons, but I'm not sure what else to look at in this instance.

Here're their 2015 WARs:

MT - 9.4
BH - 9.9
MM - 7.1

If he keeps playing at this level, it's possible.

If the analogy to Harper/Trout is Brady to Manning, then Machado would be like Rodgers. Nothing against Machado, he's just not Harper or Trout- though he is trying like hell to shove himself in the conversation.

Bad analogy since Rodgers is absolutely better than Brady. His efficiency is off the charts.

Brady's teams have been better. Separate argument.

I sorta felt the same, but don't know enough about NFL to take up that argument.

That is coincidental.

There's no question Syndergaard has been fucking outrageous as of late, but he's got a whole lot less of a track record than Harper does, and in the OP you docked Harper for his lack of track record.

Don't get me wrong, if Syndergaard was on the Indians, I'd be stroking my dick so hard it'd be smoking right now. However, Indian or not, you're not going to catch me calling a guy with only 170 innings pitched one of the best pitchers in baseball.
Nope, not one of the best pitchers in baseball, Slinky. Silly me.

And there's an expansion draft, who are your two SP taken? You have to take on their contracts, and you have a large payroll because those Charlotteans love their baseball.

I take Clayton Kershaw and Noah Syndergaard. You get the best SP in baseball who will also be a good influence on the new team, and you get a guy who isn't eligible for free agency until 2021 who is already one of the best pitchers in baseball.

I said I'd take him if there was an expansion draft because of his young age. I don't remember saying he was the one of the best, but if I did, I must have been using the phrase "one of the best" liberally, like top 20 pitcher, which I think he is.

Either that or I'M LOSING MY FUCKING MIND

So I said he was a top 20 pitcher in baseball, if not better at the time, and had a lot of room for improvement, and thus could end up much higher. And then you ridiculed me for saying he was one of the best pitchers in baseball. So why am I the silly one again?

Coming from the same guy who told me ERA and WHIP are laughable stats.

No I didn't. I personally said "LOL" to them, but verified their usefulness. They are very weak stats however.

And get lost, CowboyBot
