Overall I thought it was a pretty good effort, I actually have no real complaints... but I guess I'll nitpick... I would've liked a longer pause between "free, and the home of the brave" ... I just like that extra suspense... but who am I to tell Jeff Jimerson how to do his job...

Let me say this... since Rob Scuderi left, the Pens defense has mostly been a joke. And he already won one cup with his new NHL club. Most underrated guy in the NHL.

At the time I agreed with the move, because I assumed we would pursue a guy in his mold to replace him for a little less money.

We didn't. Well, we tried, but Michalek was both more expensive and less good. A rare miss by Ray Shero.

That's what people (myself included) said after game 1 of the Hawks/Wings series.

I think it would be stupid for the Pens to buyout Fleury. They could trade him. Heck, a change of scenery might do him some good.

Gotta give credit to Boston. Marchand, Krejci, Horton, etc have stepped it up offensively. Chara has done a great job shutting down Crosby through the first two games.

Rask has been playing out of his mind. He should have been a Vezina candidate.

If Fleury/Vokoun continue to struggle, this is going to be a quick series.

Only thing is they aren't going to trade Malkin or Crosby and they don't have a first...soo really no one on that team worth while imo to rebuild around.

As long as we don't get MAF back in the deal. I'd rather let Miller walk in another year as UFA than end up with MAF.

I agree, The Sabres do have a couple of good looking young goalies in the system I would think at least one of them is better than MAF.

I'm not even sure he is the leading candidate on his own team right now. Rask has been great, but I'd give the nod to Krejci right now.

Cap is going to hinder a big money grab at a goalie for the Pens if they plan to keep Malkin and Letang.

I'd rather Pegula just light the $5.75M that Fleury is due each of the next two years on fire than spend it on him.

Afterall, the Leino, Myers, and Stafford deals prove he's got no problem burning money with no return.
