Bruce Bochy - Countdown to the Top 10

With only 32 games left in the regular season, Bochy stands 17 wins from tying Leo Durocher for 10th in all time managerial wins. That means the Giants will have to go 17-15 to get him to tie. However, if they want to give him sole possession of 10th place, they will need to go 18-14. Both are within the realm of possibility but will be difficult for a team that has played, on average, .500 ball through 130 games.

That reminds me, September 2018 was quite brutal. That month probably single handedly killed the "guess the record" threads we used to do. Should we try to resurrect it for the race to the Top 10?

Giants now have to go at least 17-12 to get Bochy into that 10th place tie. This team is looking like what I had hoped it to not be. Flirt with playoff aspirations but duck out well in advance of the end of the season but stick around long enough to not trade off all the high value assets; play just well enough to get out of the top 10 in the 2020 draft; and yet still miss getting Bochy into the Top 10. That, my friends, is my idea of a worst case scenario of a season. Well, actually, it would have been worse if Sabean and/or Evans were in charge. We would have lost prospects this year and still probably hit all the other "targets".

Actually I'm pretty happy about this year. The team is actually watchable, they are better than expected, and FZ has already shown his skill and added promising talent, and this is just year one.

I'm fine with this season if we can get Bochy in the top 10 for wins. I think he still gets in to the HOF even if he isn't on the 10 but it would be nice to make that the finishing touch for his career.

Its starting to be a reach for Bochy to hit that top 10 mark. Giants need to win at least 16 more games (with no more than 10 losses) to get Bochy in that spot.

Whenever we really count them out, they seem to respond. Whenever we expect them to keep up the good play and the winning, they respond accordingly, in reverse.
