Series Notes: The HEAT and Nets meet for the fourth and final match-up this regular season. So far this season, Brooklyn is the only team in the league that Miami has yet to beat as the Nets hold a, 3-0, series lead, with two of them being one-point games and the other a double-overtime contest. Last season, the HEAT swept the season-series, 3-0, and entering this year, they had beaten the Nets in 13-straight games having swept the season-series four consecutive times. The HEAT is 59-44 all-time versus the Nets in the regular season, including 34-17 in games played in Miami and 25-27 in games played on the road.

Pacers get man-handled so Heat get a little more breathing room for the 1st seed - first time in a while the Heat are able to win when the Pacers lose… Maybe the trick is for the Heat to play before the Pacers do so they dont get the urge to tank the game as they usually do when they play at the same time or later and know the result of the Pacers game and feel they can get away with a loss

Just don't comprehend how James Jones can be totally benched simply due to the return of Ray Allen. Allen at 37% behind the arc for the season, Jones at 55%. Albeit somewhat limited action for Jones, if I have a guy hitting 55% behind the arc, I'm going to make him play his way out of the lineup. Remember, by any measure, the only thing Allen brings to the table (at this point in his career) is shooting (37% not withstanding). Defensively, there is no worse player in the NBA.


But truly, this doesn't even have to be a debate about Allen vs. Jones. Jones has earned a spot in the rotation until such time as he proves himself unworthy. Spoelstra needs to find a way to get Jones 15 lousy minutes. This shouldn't be too hard given the recent play of others, including Cole, Lewis, Battier, and perhaps some others.


Since Jones received zero minutes with Wade, Anderson, and Oden all out of the lineup (and Beasly in the doghouse), this lament is all a waste of time. He's buried deep at the end of the bench. Big mistake.

Sadly, it has nothing to do with Ray Allen or even Spo - quite simply, JJ’s role with the Heat this season and last is one of last resort - He is the guy they call upon as a last resort when we have guys out or have guys like diva wade bitching out of games. Given the number of guys in Spo’s rotation, a quality guy is bound to be left out - JJ is that guy . But, dont fret - he will get his share of chances before its all said and done… we have seen it before .
