I must admit I'd think about drafting D. Cook at 15 although not popular choice.

If we had a chance to draft Cook at 15 I would be all over it. He and Fournette are those "rare/special" RB's I talked about earlier. Cook is a great receiver too and would kill it in our system (although hard to say that with our shitty OL) but you get the point. He should kill it in our system. No way would I pass on him in the first, but no way he is there without trading up. I know RB's aren't a hot item come draft time, but Fournette and Cook will be.

My only concern with Fournette is injuries. He seems to be dinged up.

After Zeke they will be even more.

Barring injury issues ( he does not shy away from taking on defenders ) Leonard Fournette is going to be a great NFL back .. He'd be awesome here

I keep saying that if nothing else he can be that type of guy that finds a way to pick up 1 yard when we have 3rd and 1. He can actually power through a defender. Can you imagine just the improvement of this offense if we could actually pick up those plays? At least it would save our defense a bit as we could just run 3 more plays and take another couple minutes off the clock per drive.

Yeah it's pretty sad when it is 3rd and 1 and you're 85% sure we aren't going to pick up the first down.

I definitely hate when I see our guys go down a yard short knowing bad things are ahead. I've never seen a team struggle more with that play than the Broncos this year.

8-8 we need as good a draft pick as possible
Could be the difference between drafting a Chris jones vs Adam gotsis
I know jones went 37 but he is a stud and gotsis is a development player both selected in the 2nd round

Hopefully we wouldn't be reaching for a Gotsis-like prospect in round one...

Agreed. Decent draft position could get us some earlier impact type players to add to the group. Good to see this past year's rookie class do some good things and hopefully build for even more next year. We really need Lynch and Gotsis though to develop if we want to see this team succeed moving forward.

I want the highest possible 2nd rounder we can get. This is the round I hope we trade up in this year.

Long term Lynch's success or failure will absolutely determine the success of the 2016 class.

True Gotsis isn't the main part of that equation for success. I still believe in Lynch and what he can do. He has regressed a little as the season has gone on but I think it is because he is so afraid of making mistakes that he is just a hair slower than just when he allows his natural athleticism to take over and go make plays. This will be a big off season for him. And really it will be for many reasons. Maybe different coaching staff coming in than the one that selected him making it that much harder since he isn't "their guy". Could depend on what other competition we bring in to go against him. Then can he work on his mechanics to where next year going into training camp instead of having to worry about counting his steps in a 7-step drop it just feels natural and he can be looking down the field.
