Well that gives us a chance to maybe get one of those late round steals that we are so good at. Broncos are one of those teams that do not shy away from players with a bit of a checkered past or some injury concerns. Talent seems to trump all when it comes to the draft. So far that has paid off for the most part. A few busts along the way but I would say a much higher hit rate than most teams in the league.

A guy to keep an eye on is Evan Goodman for the OL. Plays for Arizona State as their LT but most are thinking he will play OG in the NFL. Maybe a bit bigger than what we like for our scheme but honestly having watched some of his games they do a lot of the ZBS thoughts with the backside cut off or the Tackle pulling across for the formation. He handles that all very well and his pass blocking from what I have seen is pretty darn good. Does a good job of keeping his base and not getting caught lunging like I see a lot of college prospects do. He has good feet and just doesn't get tricked by either speed or power guys trying to get through or around him. He does a great job of absorbing the first hit of a defensive player then redirecting them where he wants.

Plays on a terrible team but when you get voted to 1st team SEC by the coaches of the conference that should definitely get a few people looking his way. I'm really impressed with his ability to fight through blockers and just doesn't take a lot of bad steps. Just seems to be around the ball all the time. Just turned on one of his games and I think the first 8 plays he was either the one making the play or was right behind the guy that was and helped finish off the runner.

I'll add his play speed is down right impressive. Just watched a play where he was on the other side of the field and was passing about 4 teammates trying to chase down the ball carrier to be the one to make the play. The more I watch Cunningham the more I would love to see him be our pick. I'm somewhat doubting that would be the case as he will go higher than Elway is usually willing to go for an ILB as he has had such good luck finding talented guys in the later rounds or on the open market.

That is the exact player that came to my mind too when watching him. And when that has been the type of player this defense has been missing I'm really hoping we take a good long look.

Good athlete, looked flipping awesome in the preseason, very raw at TE coming out of draft but very smooth overall. Pride of Iowa City

Watching one of his games right now. For being raw I have been impressed with his blocking right now. Arkansas loved running the football his direction and he was not afraid to mix it up. As a receiver not a great route runner (which kind of expected considering his final year at Arkansas was his first as a TE) but deceptive speed, good leaping ability, and a very nice set of hands.
