They didn't hit like crazy in the last week.

Just a miserable all around effort.

Yes because that's how baseball works. Teams always hit and pitch their exact averages every week. Good teams win exactly 4 out of every 7 games every week. :rolleyes2:

i'm more concerned about Shaw's regression (which is why I'd be selling him hard now to get that SP they need) and Hanley's apparent decline.

Not to mention the new catcher hits like your typical MLB pitcher.

I really liked the way this bullpen was built for october with Taz/Smith/Koji/Kimbrell....but they'll figure something out.

They absolutely should have signed perralta.

I just don't see where they can make the moves they need unless they overpay. Their 2 best trade chips (non-untouchable class) are both hurt in a bad way.

This thread should be a good example of why "BREAKING: ...." isn't a good title for threads like this one.

Shields' ERA was 3.06 on May 25. Now 6.28. Amazing what four really bad starts can do.

24.62 ERA, 13 walks, 6 strikeouts, 11.1 innings, 32 hits allowed, 7 home runs allowed

Opposing batters are hitting .485/.563/.879 against him over that span. For reference, 2004 Barry Bonds had a .609 OBP and slugged .812.
