Who else gets traded from the Padres?
Pomeranz is the big ticket item teams would want I'd imagine. Jon Jay should fetch some interest as well. Ross is the guy every team would want, but I am not sure a team is out there willing to give up the amount of prospects it'd take to get him. It'd have to be a hefty haul.Who else gets traded from the Padres?
Cashner might still have moderate value. Certainly not what he use to have (he was the key piece coming back in the Rizzo trade, after all), but they might get something decent back.
Norris might fetch something if he is dealt to a team that is looking for a platoon catcher.
And, um...
Uh...
Yea...

Cashner, Norris, Jay, Upton, Ross, Kemp, Rodney, Pomeranz are all options and I might be forgetting one. Ross needs to get back and start some games before that happens so he might be more likely to get traded in the offseason. Padres would have to eat some Kemp contract like they did Shields, but he's a much better 2nd half hitter which could intrigue teams especially in the AL so he can DH. Pomeranz seems like he'd have the most value right now, but I would like to see him be kept around. I'd say at least 2 or 3 of the 8 guys I listed will be traded before the season is over.Who else gets traded from the Padres?

Considering his very slow start to the season I can't believe they'd be asking for a lot, but one or two nice prospects would work.I hear Sandy Alderson & the Mets are scouting Derrick Norris. I wouldn't mind at all having him on the roster, and would totally welcome it, as long as SD isn't asking too much in return.

Upton hasn't been that good offensively, especially this month, but he still brings speed and good defense. He's improved greatly from his time with the Braves. I'm pretty sure Rodney did just sign a 1yr deal, but he's having a good bounce back season and there are teams who do need BP help.Yeah I would think it Kemp were to be traded the Padres would have to eat basically all of that contract. Upton needs to produce more to get people intrigued I would think. Isn't Rodney a FA anyway?

How does a pitcher go to SD and get worse? And how did this guy get the nickname "Big Game" ? He's been in a lot of big games but it seems like he is on the wrong side way too often.
As is the case with Kemp, SD would have to eat some of Melvin's contract. Neither are gonna bring a lot back in return, but something is better than nothing.True he is a good defender and WHEN he gets on base is a threat to steal. So far Rodney is doing well.
