Unless the gnats appeal that play.

Damn, that little 5 game skid we had really hurt. If the pitching holds up, we could make a run.

Who would have thought Shelby Miller would get rocked, but two rookies would shut the Nats down?

I hope so, but we're definitely missing Freeman.
For sure, but everyone else seems to be picking up their game. The entire infield has pretty good sticks and Maybin and Markakis ain't slouching either. This team feels like it's starting to come together. We just need solid relief pitching. The starters, especially the new guys, Wisler and this guy tonight, have been impressive.

Where'd this new pitcher come from? Our farm league? Another team? Some other farm league?

He used to be a top prospect for the Yankees until he got hurt. We got him this offseason for a bag of balls, low risk, possibly high reward trade. Tonight was his Major League debut.

We need Teheran to get it together on the road. If he were the same pitcher as last year, we'd be setting real pretty.

Our BP has been better of late, but I hope we get some upgrades before the deadline.

Phillies, Brewers and Rockies before the All Star break. Probably the easiest stretch we'll have the rest of the season, we must take advantage.

Good win last night. Teheran is still rock solid at home, he's just terrible on the road though. Uribe and Gomes with solo homers for all the scoring we would need.

I'll take wins every chance we can get them, but we're gonna have to start scoring more than two runs per game without Freeman in the lineup.

I don't know if I've ever seen anything like this.

8 games at home - 5-0 2.04 ERA .187 AVG 0.92 WHIP
9 games on road - 1-4 7.40 ERA .361 AVG 1.93 WHIP

I wonder what is causing this difference.

It's the biggest home road split I can remember. I can't think of a logical explanation either.

Wood's struggles at home continued last night, but he was given 9 runs to play with so he still got the win. Kevin Correia was roughed up by our offense last night. Keep the train moving boys, we're just a half game out of second and 5 games out of first and two shitty teams after the Phillies to take us into the All Star Break.

Wood's home-road splits aren't as drastic as Teheran's, but they are eye popping.

Road- 10 starts, 5-2, 2.43 ERA, .276 avg, 1.275 WHIP
Home- 6 starts, 1-3, 5.18 ERA, .324 avg, 1.697 WHIP

We have one pitcher who is dominant at home, but terrible on the road, and one pitcher that is rock solid on the road, but preety bad at home.

Which is why we haven't had a winning streak of more than 5 games this season.

Wisler with the start tonight against a streaking Brewers team that has won 8 in a row.

K. Johnson with a 2 run tater in the first to get things started and Uribe follows with a single.
