Pretty sure it was Mims. I think more than anything he lost the ball for a second. He slowed down just a hair and didn't time his jump well to contest the pass. Not the best throw by Nix for sure if you are going to throw up a jump ball like that, but Mims didn't help as much as he should have. If you are throwing up a jump ball though not sure Mims is the receiver you want challenging a defender. He has a lot to his skillset but that is not one of them.
yep, I agree it was not the best pass . But I seen what you seen he just got turned around and like you said he just did not try once he got lost it was to late to help the QB. just run into the defender if nothing else but I believe he did slow down and then did not leap . it looked awkward . to me that a strange play.

Yeah both interceptions are ones I don't fully put on Nix. Those happen. Bad bounce or defender just makes a great play. There are times you have to take a shot on those 50/50 balls. Payton did mention the play call was a bad one. I don't completely question though Nix's decision there as you see a 1 on 1 battle deep and you like to think your receiver will win those battles more times than not.

I think the WR's kind of got Caught not seeing some what, those throws were kind of wild at even attempting the one to Cort you could tell he seen the throw way to late Bo was playing like Elway last Monday. They need to expect a ball to come to them and play till the whistle

Payton took the blame on that ball to Mims that was picked as a bad play call, but Nix also needs to recognize when it isn't there and who the defenders are. Denzel Ward isn't the CB you throw a 50/50 ball on especially not with your shortest receiver. As Nix matures more he shouldn't make that mistake again.

I would say Nix's on field judgement - while not perfect - is better than about 75% of NFL starters right now.

If you notice in the last couple of games - Nix has not run to open spots on the field - instead hanging back from the LOS to pitch balls to his receivers. @58crash that's how he builds relationships with the WRS and RBs - when he has a choice - he feeds their stat line - not the Nix stat line.

He seems to get that he is there to throw the ball ! I don't want him to get hit . I like that. that trait keep you on the field . Even when he was running he has been rather smart.

Well he needs to feed my stat line for my fantasy team. I get more points for rushing yards than I do passing yards. What about my needs!? Does anyone care?

DC cares. Springer does too if you can get him to stop talking about birds and bushes or some such nonsense in the cafeteria. Seek support there at your own risk.

Said this before but I like this Bo Nix kid. Watched him at Auburn & Oregon. Broncos got the steal of the draft and their elusive franchise QB.

to be honest he is the first QB we drafted that is for real that I can think of . kind of sad .

Yes bone head was a real QB...Cutler was the frown cannon . maybe with Shanahan

The difference is I love Bo game not for one thing . but all of his game and his personality is solid and his coach and all his teammates are 100% behind him .

one of those picks was IMO a shade to sun problem add in the block was set up blocking a defender that left from shade to sun then decided to come back and Bo could not see him change his mind

the Cortland one was on him he studder just enough to let the defender get at the ball for a easy INT ...timing on that throw is steps and let go of the ball

I think teams have figured out a little that Nix loves to attack the intermediate and deep parts of the middle of the field. So they are trying to force him to throw towards the intermediate sideline. Going to be interesting to see how the Broncos adjust.

Its interesting because one of the draft nitpicks I kept hearing about Nix was his inability to attack the intermediate and deep middle of the field. He was a dink and dunk QB and now that is what teams want to force him into.
