From a sports only standpoint BYU makes the most sense. They are competitive in Football and Basketball, they have a 64,000 stadium that sells out every game, and they have a national following.

From a baggage/perception standpoint........:nono:

I disgree. BYU doesn't play games on Sunday, as is part of Mormonism (or at least I guess that's the reason), so therefore I'd be surprised if they went to the Big XII as scheduling would be a nightmare for Basketball and less popular sports.

didn't I just tell you that :L

although, they are pushing hard to get out of Ray Jay and getting an on campus stadium

Those sports to provide an extra challenge, but lets be honest the priorities for expansion are:

1. Football
2. MONEY!!!!!!
3. Football again

Isn't this guy just a blogger? A formal invitation to that many schools will break ESPN. Maybe it wasa formal notification that the Big 12 wants to have a second interview, not an invite.

If the BIG 12 invited that many, holy crap.

Where will the ACC go to get more schools if the Big 12 takes the rest of the AAC?

Not many left in the AAC to NOT be considered.

Tulane
Temple
SMU
Tulsa
Navy

Big 12 and AAC merge. ESPN and FOX forced to pay another $275,000,000 per season.

The AAC teams do not get their 100% until after five years. The 10 members of the Big 12 make bank and completely fuck over the new invitees.

The internet is saying it is down to BYU, Cincinnati, and Houston. October might be the time.

If schools actually had invites it would be announced by the schools already.
Im thinking you right. prob not invites as much as "you are still in the running so bring your a game and show us what you got."

But still, not being able to schedule games on Sunday for one school messes everything up for more conferences.

BYU's baggags isn't a problem. Big 12 has Baylor. No baggage can compete with that. Except for the age of the victims, even Penn State isn't close.

Hell take Cincy, Houston and BYU for football only. That'd be 12 in all but footbal. Then change the football conference name to The Baker's Dozen.

And, no divisions in football. Just take the best two to the CCG.

Not sure I'm buying all this. We could have researched, invited and began scheduling the new schools in about a week here on the hoop and came up with that list.

I'm wondering if the Big12 isn't trying to merge with another P5 as long as this is taking.
