The rules state there must be 12 teams minimum for a conference championship. We only got 10 with no really good teams to add. B12 is in a pickle. Adding BYU and UCF are the only legitimate options. But geographically that's a disaster.

They are going to pay a lot of money, to two scrub schools, to join the big12 within a years time. There is no way they stay at 10 teams. It is funny though that their first year of "we play everyone, one true champion" resulted in two co champions.

Simple: just add Incarnate Word and Sam Houston State to the Xii. Now, instead of lousy OOC games, those become thrilling, in-conference games

Rolling BYU's TV deal in with the Big 12's deal will help with finances. What really needs to happen is take the LHN and BYU's deal and roll them into a conference network you'll have to guarantee Texas a certain payout but it's the best thing for the conferences long term health.

Obviously, the conference is pissing in the wind trying to convince the CFB world that playing 9 conference games without a CCG is the way to go.

The 'one true champion' slogan was a huge fail this year; even if everything fell their way, and the conf got two teams into the playoff (which was a possibility) the slogan would be a fail.

The CFB will continue to use that against the Big 12.

this actually sounds like a logical idea.

the only problem to it is they want to get into Florida. Imagine the time-zone shifting nightmare that would cause.

I think UCF is a school that would jump at the chance to get in a P5 conference, need to just find a partner. Or else full scale armageddon, three/four time zones get them all. I dont know.

Hell, the BIG just added two shitty teams and it didn't seem to hurt them.

they have a team in the east as it is now so it shouldn't be a big deal with time zone. they are already doing it.

that's a good point.

But those teams added a lot of money too. Who can the Big12 add that would bring in the money/TV sets? Maybe the Orlando market, UCF? The BYU mormon market?

if wisconsin wouldn't have tanked, then would the big 10 be going back to the drawing board?

I think they'll get a waiver since not having a CCG hurt them this year.

Hey, I'm all for conference expansion. I liked the CCG. I liked the Divisions and most importantly I liked keeping Texas dumb-asses from winning conference titles. Remember that 9 year Mack Brown 10 win streak they were so proud of?

2 conference titles.

BOOM

BYU & UCF will net you more TV sets than WV and TCU (as TCU gave you zero market share).

It is about helmets not CCG. It was once about worst loss. Now it's about CCG. It's really about

The fact that tOSU freakin killed Wisconsin and the Big 12 gave the committee an easy out is a lot of it also. If tOSU wins by a FG I'm not sure they get in.

You are correct the draw of tOSU had something to do with it but the committee had a problem and the Big 12 left them a solution that would garner the lowest bitch count.
